It’s that 2.4L that is infamous for burning oil and seizing, our 2011 had to have the engine replaced by Kia as its a well know issue with that 2.4L engine.
As easy as it is for me to say but harder for you to do but keep on doing what you’re doing. Love it. Love these guys Eric O, Ivan, Diagnose Dan, Wrenching Kenny and another few I forget the names.

Theta 2 engines had bearing issues and later oil consumption. When the bearings go it puts the car in limp mode. Hyundai has extended the warranty to lifetime for the short block, but you need to of had the knock sensor update recall performed or they’ll deny the new engine. Also have all of your oil change records.

Interesting, but makes sense being in neutral. Just curious, for the shifter, the manual override is punched through the console. Why not start at pulling the console cover and check to see if thats damaged and blocking the shifter?
Buddy calls me he is with a friend in a P.O.S Honda and pulling into a parking lot a loud bang. Engine frozen solid. Call a junk dealer and see if its worth 100 bucks. My first and last Honda in the 80s, you name the part and it failed, three bad parts should have been replaced by the dealer under warranty. Funny all of my Chevys since 64 made it to 200k with minimal problems.

Bro, please try to keep the glare off from the scanner, we really like to get a full list of codes if it's not huge, we also would like the total number of modules, some scanners count them for us, and some scanners number them on the left side so a scroll down to the bottom would be nice please. This is a good reason to charge for your time, the lot is lucky you moved to under the hood or you would still be looking under the center console and still charging more time. Suggested title name Hyundai SantaFe 2014 2.4L GDI No Crank No Key Power

Good job. Some of those kia and hyundai GDI engines had manufacturing defects on the bottom end and were prone to crankshafs seizing up.

What does the TCM show for gear position? And also at this point my second step in checking a no start no crank is to make sure the crankshaft moves.
