    Happy New Year! And sir can you give some more details about the your jet engine's afterburner fuel delivery system.

      Hi Nikhil,
      what do want to know?
      My jet engine afterburner has 12 brass nozzles, used in 3D printers.
      I have a second fuel pump for the system.
      The pump is nothing special 12V, 3 Bar pressure and 3L/hour flow.
      In the afterburner I have a spark plug and thats the simple setup.
      Happy new year😊

      @@Praendy Thank you soo much for your precious time Andy.
      I myself built a jet engine using a turbocharger and now I want to build an afterburner. I saw fighter jet engine using fuel spray bar with small hole to inject fuel into afterburner, but I don't know system would work in my case or do I have to use a spray nozzle instead.

      Hi Nikhil,
      here is a video from my afterburner fuel system setup.
      A turbocharger maybe will not work with this setup, because your nozzle outlet diameter is much smaller.
      I will find some pics and links for you👍

    Hello I have a question. How and where did you start with the dimensions to buid it? How did you know what size to build the combustion chamber and the exhaust length? The reed valve metal, all you did was replace it with 25mm metal and bend it slightly upwards? I look forward to your response.

    • @romanmartinez3701
      @romanmartinez3701 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, what thickness of metal did you use for the chamber and exhaust? 24 gauge?

    • @Praendy
      @Praendy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Roman,
      It was try and error.
      At first all stainless tubing is 2mm (0,078 inch)
      The spring steel from the reed valve is 0,25mm (0,001 inch)
      In the beginning the combustion chamber was a bit short and the flame got pushed out of the exhaust.
      After adding 120mm of tubing to the length of the combustion chamber it worked.
      The original spring steel was only 0,1mm in thickness and burnt very fast away.
      The length of the exhaust pipe was upscaled from a smaller pulse jet and it seems right.
      If you have the same reed valve block I can send you all measurements.👍

      @@Praendy I have same reed block yes. What’s the distance from the reed block to the curve of the pipe for exhaust. (Distance from reed valve to sloping angle pipe)- if I worded that correctly

      @@Praendy I have another question, why did you increase the thickness of the reed valve metal, and did the reed valve dictate the size of the engine.

    • @Praendy
      @Praendy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Roman,
      Today I will measure all parts and write down a list for you.
      The original spring steel membran is only 0,1 mm and did not survive the first 30 seconds.
      Almost all pulse jet reed valves have a thickness of 0,25 - 0,3 mm.
      I still have problems with the heat and the valve is getting a blue color and the edges torn off after some minutes.
      Also the original Aluminium cast part, where the valves are mounted flew away after seconds and I replaced the triangle by a stainless 1 mm sheet.
      A lot of rework after some seconds brrrrd😂

    No sound 4:04 to 4:38.
    I've never seen a pulse jet where the fuel feed is after the reed valves before, was there any specific reason for doing this?

    • @Praendy
      @Praendy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      If there is no fuel pump, the fuel is injected in the air intake.
      The Venturi effect will "suck" the fuel/air mixture in the combustion chamber.
      Larger pulse jets using fuel pumps and the fuel is injected right behind the reeds.
      I use Propan gas and the ~6 Bar pressure acting like a fuel pump.
      So I decided, to inject the gas in the air stream of the reed valves inside the combustion chamber.

    How long did the reed valve with 0,25mm spring steel survive?
    I remember the germans used a asbestos layer between the block and valve fingers on the V-1 to absorb a large part of the impact and make better seal.

    • @Praendy
      @Praendy  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi,
      its still alive, but the most outer edges starting to torn off.
      Will machine the combustion chamber a little longer, so the heat will stay more backwards.
      Will see next time😉
