    He actually had an interview where he explained that he did this because nobody cared and nobody is affected, if someone messaged his company they would send the pills for free but since hospials did not care and insurance companies stayed silent, he was able to do that easily. Same goes for insulin. But happily I don’t live in US and healthcare is basically free in EU

If people didn’t have insurance he would send out the medication for free. All round pretty good guy, but he just didn’t give a fuck about his image so it was easy for media to run his name to the dirt. Only semi-shady thing he did was when he worked at an investment institution and took risky trades on biotech options. Lost the capital of the fund and that’s who he owes the 64 million to. Even then, he made a lot of money on said biotech options as well and nobody complained until it went badly.

    In case people didn’t know, the Wu Tang album mentioned got bought last year by a crypto company. A crypto company that is heavily speculated to be involved with GameStop in an upcoming NFT marketplace launch that was announced a few weeks ago. All but 1 of the owners of said crypto company is known. A common consensus is that the unknown member is Ryan Cohen who is the current Chairman of GameStop. In short, GameStop could potentially give partial NFT ownership of the Wu Tang album to its shareholders :)

    I hate the way this story was told. The price increase hit the insurance companies, not the patients. Patients were never charged $750 for medication, their rates stayed the same. But it fucked up a lot of shit for the insurance companies because they had built their business models off of these low prices.

    I work in a famous pharmacy store in Australia (chemist warehouse). This store sells their products at a loss or with very little markup. Their motto is “cheaper @ chemist warehouse” and it’s true. What’s even better is that people who qualify for a government subsidy or is a senior citizen can get their medications at the cost of $5.80 each. Almost all of the medicines*
    For you American folks, especially entrepreneurs in the pharmaceutical industry trying to sell medicine, make it affordable. Change the code of how medicine is afforded by the needy and the rich.
    A serious markup on medicine is an unethical means of filling your pocket.

    Pharmaceutical companies claim it costs them billions to develop drugs but what's actually in their price includes ads. For every 1 dollar they spend developing a drug they spend $19 dollars advertising it.
