    I have an earlier model and right now, cooking 4 chicken thighs. 30 minutes. Very adequate. Trick is not to use too much oil, otherwise it will turn out greasy, especially for chips. Raw potatoes take about 30 minutes; check at about the 20-minute mark for doneness.

      Glad that it’s still working for you! We have a ninja now (review coming v soon!) and find it a lot quicker and easier to get better results.

    Many thanks. Shocked how long it takes to cook chips so will stick with deep fat fryer I think.

    I would have liked to hear you cut - or bite - into a chip and comment on how the crunch and taste compares with deep fried chips. I know plenty of people who are happy with oven fried, but oven-fried doesn't do it for me. So are these just fancy oven fried, or are they really like deep fried?

      I think the Philips air fryer, looks to make them more delicious.

      @@carstenhansen5757 ...this one has the moving/rotating paddle...so it stirs as it cooks for even cooking. The other type without a paddle, you have to stop it, take out the cooking pan, manually stir the chips or wings...and put back in again...and possibly do that manual stir more than once. This is much more convenient.

    • @carstenhansen5757
      @carstenhansen5757 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Steve turton - Yeah, as I dived into it, I found it, it does a lot more than the Philips.

    Interesting video. Seems quite noisy (oh you just said that as I was typing). Also the timer sounds like an alarm clock
    I will continue to eat oven chips (on the odd occasion I want chips) because of the above reasons, storage space required and of course the cost. Good review though.

  • @suemlaver
    @suemlaver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love mine Had it years ,but I wish it stopped when the timer finishes instead of being a manual off switch .. all the parts can be bought for it too (told you I've had it for years)Chips are better than oven or fried..

      Any tips for good chips? Do you use oven chips or from potato’s? What’s your process

    My lid has all cracked. I read they do that with abuse. I ve never abused mine. I’ve written to Tefal but not received a response. I’m frightened it breaks up and explodes. They say the lid is easy to replace but it’s not the issue. It shouldn’t have happened.

      I made some chicken drumstick with it and I had a flour coating on them. When the fryer is on, the flour comes out from the top (between the connection between the top parts). I feel there should be some sort of gasket in between? I am not sure if that is common for every unit.

      I got mine st the thrift store for $10 otherwise I wouldn’t have bought one either. I use it a lot though for all kinds of different things. I make vegetable stir fry, popcorn shrimp, I take the paddle out and cook fish sticks in it and turn them over half way through. I like it because I don’t have to preheat the oven. But this thing does take up a lot of room.
