I clicked because of the soyjaks. Whenever I see a 4chan meme on TH-cam I can't help but unhinge my jaw, point at the screen, and screech in pure unsettling ecstasy.
It's open season on Jesus, but leave the rabbis alone? That doesn't make sense, especially since Judaism is the root of Christianity. There's nothing anti-semitic about criticizing Judaism the way Christianity gets blasted.
With Absurd loaning out GBK's guitarist and, now, GBK loaning out Absurd's vocalist/multi-instrumentalist, the unique qualities that once distinguished the two bands are noticeably blurred, in my opinion. It is most prominent in the vocals. Obviously, GBK will never sound the same without a drummer doubling as a vocalist. Certainly nothing will compare to Black Lourde's on-stage presence, but Grimnir (RIP) did a good job matching the quality of the vocal performance. At least Grabgesang's melancholic sound better echoed Absurd's later-career output. The bombastic nature of Gelal's guitarkraft still shines through, but, I have to say, it is diminished slightly. Perhaps he is saving all the best riffs for the new Arghoslent album? I don't know. Still a great record and I will buy it. Is it the level of quality for a comeback album I expected after over 15 years of silence? Unfortunately, no. Nice thumbnail, by the way.
I have completely to disagree. After gelal join the absurd, the quality of the songs increased drastically. And I also disagree that absurd now sound gbk because it isn’t.
@@ottenebra239 I think it's the guitar tone that's making it sound similar and that's about it imo. I love what Gelal has brought to Absurd, and hes such a versatile guitarist that he doesnt make any of his bands sound too similar to the others, the absurd riffs sound like Absurd, the GBK sound like GBK. He also composed a few songs on the latest Hearse release Traipse Across the Empty Graves and the riffs and songs sound like Hearse songs, it's also a great album. I do agree about the Black Lourde point, he was GBKs best vocalist and drummer
this sounds nothing like Absurd IMO. Absurd is far too Punk and Folk influenced to ever being mistaken for GBK even if the vocals were the same (which they're not, Unhold isn't even Absurd's main vocalist)

Okay I'm back to say that I really don't think it's their best per se, I was really excited when I first heard it and my fanboiness came out hard, but I am happy with it and I listened to the whole discography and it fits in nicely. I wish they would have thrown us a song or two more tbh but hey, it's good to have em back
