Ok , I will put my hand up. Lol I bought this Hestan nanobond Wok last year in Canada when it was on sale. No regrets , love the wok. Then I like high end cookwear . Very easy to clean.
been aware of the Hestan cookware for a while, including the wok; it's a beautiful line of cookware. I think this is my first time seeing it actually in action though, and I must say that spot seasoning worked exceptionally well here. Very impressive. I was thinking to myself as I watched this video that this particular wok might be even more versatile than the typical stainless steel wok because of that larger flat surface on the bottom and nice heavy lid. this thing's almost capable of dutch oven duty...I think those little holes kind of hamstring that notion, unfortunatly. Still, this one piece could do a ton of work. just checked their website, where they claim it can withstand temperatures up to one THOUSAND degrees. Sheesh! Thanks for this very interesting review, Tak!
Beautiful wok, but it sells for $557.61 on Amazon Canada and for that price, it should come with a chef to cook the food for me. I'll stick with my carbon steel wok, thanks very much!
This is essentially a stainless steel wok with a natural surface. Therefore, this wok requires seasoning to create a non-stick cook surface. As I have shown in the video, it is readily seasoned using my spot seasoning method. If you use the techniques that I have recommended in stir-frying beef and noodles, they should not stick to the wok.
Looks to me you fried the egg the same way both times, oil and heated it. And that's a lot of oil. And any scratch on a pan will attract more burns in the future. Basically ruined if it's scratched.
Woks are always the way to go Mr.Tak. I love both stainless and carbon steel woks, and they're one of the best kitchen tools out there.
Very interesting indeed! Thanks for your review. I just purchased an 11” Hestan skillet and can’t wait for it to arrive.
thank you for posting this video! i've been looking for a review of this wok
Beautiful wok. Thank you for reviewing it.

It's shaped like a saucier, which makes it difficult or impossible to park food on the sides. Woks are better in that sense.

Wondering how this wok works with deep frying?

Does food stick on pan when you fry beef with noodles?

I really like it, but way too expensive for me...!
Not for me, I don't want to spend that much on one wok.
