I feel these horses have the Akhal Teke in them.. the shiny coat? The long legs?? India and Turkey not too far apart LOL...the Raj loved their horses, the Tukomen loved theirs, the 2 met and mingled for certain! Just based on geography... and oh, I love the metallic coat the flowing lines of the Akhal.. it makes me think (cat lover I am) of the Siamese and the Tonkinese and Burmese, LOL
The origins of the Marwari are obscure.[6]: 328 It is thought to descend from the warhorses of the Rajput warriors of the Marwar and Mewar regions of Rajasthan,[7]: 54 with subsequent influence of horses of Turkoman type brought to the area by Mughal invaders in the sixteenth century. I see the Akhal genes there... the head a little, the coat glossy color almost metallic, the long limbs.. a little bigger and more sturdy perhaps to carry a high mounted weight? The Akhal tho, are my favorite horse, delicate etherial...floating... The closest living relatives to the Turkoman are the Arabian and Akhal-Teke horses. Like these breeds, the Turkoman had powerful shoulders, slender legs, and a graceful build. Their almond-shaped eyes could be quite large, and their hoofs relatively small.
