Fun fact: The reason Modi was so shocked by Magni’s death is because in the prophecy of Ragnarok, Magni and Modi are explicitly stated to have survived the apocalypse. Kratos literally defied fate by killing Magni!
Really? I thought he was scared cause Magni always been superior to him and stronger. Seeing his death made Modi feel true fear knowing that if Magni was just killed that simply by Kratos, he has no chance.
Every single time Kratos and Atreus fall from a height Kratos pulls Atreus toward him so that if/when they hit the ground, Kratos takes the impact. Such a small detail but what a W dad.
you don't have to worry too much about cutting off Mimir's dialogue. if you ever do they will say something along the lines of "we'll continue this later" and the next time you return to the boat they will pick up where they left off.
Mimir eventually runs out of stories, and it makes the late game surprisingly depressing, especially if you plan on going for the platinum. It's best to just enjoy them as you travel but not hang around specifically for the stories.
It is very cute how although Atreus can't hope to move that hammer, Kratos still includes him and makes him feel like he's doing something. I love how much closer they're getting.
Bit of Norse mythology lore for you: in the prophecy of Ragnarok, Magdi and Modi are supposed to survive the apocalypse and come out of it even more powerful than Thor ever was at his peak. So when Kratos kills Magdi, his brother isn’t just in disbelief because of the grief involved in seeing your family killed, it’s because this literally should not be possible.
Knowing how loose "destiny" plays out in the sequel, I can only imagine this sort of scene paralleling Freya's: Sif: "Your prophecy said my sons would survive Ragnarök!" Urð: "They would, yes." Sif: "So how come they're dead?!" Urð: "What, has Ragnarök happened already?" Sif: "...No?" Urð: "Therein lies the problem. Your sons didn't make it until Ragnarök. They died of other causes, but not by Ragnarök. A darn shame, since they would've survived it, had they been alive until then, of course." Sif: _is speechless_
NO SPOILERS: You should continue down the main story. It'll make sense to save the side questing and exploration until after the next 2 main missions. Trust me.
Even though I played this game almost for platinum and watched walkthroughs/let’splays of other youtubers, I myself find this series specifically from you quite exciting and entertaining😁
I adore the callbacks to the OG trilogy that these new games do, some of them are SO subtle I still find them today like the dragon one you mentioned at the beginning
You know that the grip of tanngiost pommel for the axe when levelled to the max is one of the strongest pommels in stats wise. It gives a good shock to enemies as well.
Ive played through this game a couple times, but if you pay attention it seems to me that Atreus doesnt panic or even allow himself to begin to panic when Kratos is there. Also remember how quickly Atreus jumps on his pops back if you choose to jump from the world tree. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Man, what an epic proportions episode. I'm glad Kratos is interacting more with Atreus. Calling him to help with the hammer was good, especially since Atreus can't do much because he's so frail. It does give him a sense of purpose, though. The fight with the brothers was insanely hard and beautiful. I was fighting to breathe, such was the intensity. (cough cough sad)

A couple of tips: Your heavy runic is better the closer the enemy is because you’ll do more ticks of damage as opposed to using it from a distance and it only doing damage once it reaches an enemy. Master parrying. On challenge and give my god of war difficulty parrying is much more crucial to learn and especially against wulvers you’ll want to time parries in order to minimize damage. For their red attacks they delay it so you should time your dodge. There are better light runic attacks in the game but for now with the one you’re rocking, try to remember to do the 3 waves instead of one haha When you visit muspelheim and Niflheim you’ll find the best armors in the game but they will require a considerable amount of grinding. It’s up to you if you want to do that on or off camera. Best of luck and don’t lower the difficulty! It’s honestly worth it to get better and overcome the obstacle ahead, unless of course it’s a side quest and you’re underleveled, then come back later.

I recommend using the light runic attack called wrath of the frost ancient, and the heavy runic attack called frost giant's frenzy (the one where Kratos smashes the axe in the ground 3 times, however you can do it 6-7 times instead if you button mash R2 rapidly). Ivaldi's Anvil is also a really good one you should experiment with.
