    George if you want the best fitting possible you need to get Johnny Wunder at Callaway to get you hooked up with Ian at Club Champion. The best around and will be NO questions in shaft or anything else when you’re done. Year of the beast needs nothing but the best and not have any questions in your equipment when the confidence means so much to your performance. If JW is doing content with them and they’re fitting him I think you’d benefit greatly!

    Even though I play Srixons now, I too grew up playing Hogan Director blades in the 70s/80s as a kid/junior, and I play a blended set as well now, even though I'm in my 50s. Srixon Z945 "blades/MBs" from 7 to PW, ZX7s "CBs" in my 5 and 6 irons, then a P790 in my 4 iron. I always think that players who played heavier clubs as a junior react well to blade irons in the shorter irons as an adult. Hope the new set works out great -- you're certainly dialed in on the ball striking! Go get em at Q School!

  • @jwalton2297
    @jwalton2297 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You seem totally confused after that fitting. I would recommend that you spend more time and try the Modus 130 shaft with those heads for the true comparison. Not a time to make any hurried decisions. Swing looks great!

  • @jasongrgr
    @jasongrgr ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Please take into account that those balls you were hitting have been hit 100,000 times before you got there. Also , that place runs the air conditioner constantly. I went and got fitted last week for the mizuno hot metals. Huge upgrade for me. Half way through my session i went and purchased a sleeve of NEW pro v1x balls. Came back to the bay and instantly got 5 more yards carry per iron , 4-9 . Overall great experience and fitting.

      A lot of these minor details are lost on fittings/people just don't think or know about them. I was at a Titleist fitting day a few months ago at a range with absolutely horrible dimple-less golf balls and my ball speed and carry were 15ish yards shorter than they should've been with the fairway woods I was testing. I had to pull up my trackman screenshots to prove to the fitter I wasn't full of shit hahaha

    It is strange how some clubs just work for you. I had a similar experience with my last fitting a couple years ago. Had an old set of Apex Pros and was expecting to get fit into the new (now last gen) Pros as well but in the end, I hit the Apex MBs way better than either the Pros or X-Forge CBs. Even as someone who always believed there isn't much reason for anyone to hit a blade, I ended up with my P-6 being Apex MBs (with 4-5 X-Forge CBs and a X-Forge UT 2) and haven't regrated it one bit. They're definitely more forgiving than you would expect from a blade, and I suspect the new ones are as well.

Shafts, grips and lie angle were all wrong. 1 seaaon later i went to 2nd Swing and got fit properly and now my game is back. Sadly it cost me additional $900 with trade in loss, so $2300 in irons in 2 yrs. Ppl were great and i’ll still buy sundries from Superstore, but i will never buy another club there.

      @@chriskubond6314 Hey Chris, I have several sets of Mizuno Mp33 irons, current gamers are yorocraft mp33 so they were a little more pricey than the standard sets. Other sets I've gotten off ebay, all under $150-160 are Mizuno Mp37 and MP14 (these are absolute gems that I would game if the lofts were same as MP33). Other than that If you want something newish but still "budget" there are sets of taylormade p770 (2020 and prior sets) that are currently selling for 1/3-1/2 the price of brand new sets. I just picked up a really nice set to test against my old mizuno blades, very nice irons all around. If "budget" means less than the $150 mark then maybe one of the absolute best iron sets is the Tommy Armour 845. You can't go wrong with those and they can be found relatively inexpensively. For really low budget I do go to thrift stores and have found really decent sets, although they are undesireable by most people they have all been gameable.
