Depending on the size of the skates, some underseater bags, which count as a personal item, may be a possible option as well. Due to mine being a men’s 13, my skates just barely won’t fit in my underseater(I have an old Samsonite one I bought a few years back I often pair with my swim backpack, about 40-45L I believe), so I would say most children and women should be able to use an underseater as a skate bag, while men would have to try it and see.
You are very welcome! Hope it’s helpful ❤️ We have just arrived in 4th country in a row with skates handled as explained in this video without any issues 😁
@@brunoandfae very strange! Won't let you fly within the UK with your skates I live in Northern Ireland and we have to fly to England or Scotland etc to compete and we always have to check in are skates! So annoying
@@brunoandfae I think if your flying into the UK from an American airline or a different airline I just looked up easy jet and ice skates is listed in their dangerous goods section and must be checked in 😭
@@rachelmurray8694 The loophole is that airlines don’t check the contents of your bags, so how would they know? 😉 As long as the security screening lets you through, you’re good to go. And that part is realistically up to each individual agent that you’re gonna run into. So, just gotta hope they are in a good mood and not feeling particularly picky. 🤷🏼♀️ But even if not, worst case they just make you check your bag, which you’d do otherwise anyway, so there is nothing to lose really.
@@rachelmurray8694 correct! I flew into Europe with skates as carry on but to fly out had to check them. It is also true that is up to the agent that scans the bag (skates are listed as a dangerous item under European Union rules...) If you want to try carry on when flying within Europe or back to USA or Canada plan to have enough time if they send you back to the check in counter.

I was wondering if you guys were going to make a video about this, thank you!

Thank you so much for this video! :)
You are very welcome! We’re happy if it helps more skaters on their travel adventures! 😊
Just wondering if you have one of those skates with removable blades are those still allowed on carry-on?
Not sure. 🤔 we’ve never even seen those in real life 😅
Just wondering, i guess Bruno has a different accent. Is he originally from the US? I hear maybe a slight spanish accent? Love it tho!
Portuguese 😁
Sadly in the UK you are not allowed to fly with skates u have to check them in 🥺
We actually flew in an out of the UK several times on this trip with our skates in carry on with no issues 🤷🏼♀️
