@georgevanderschyff8422 be honest with you, after 23y in Ireland, I'm gagging to leave back home as they are importing what I left so long ago. And I see a change in SA towards better after 30y.
Thank you, Tim and a merry Christmas to you and your family. Thank you for being relentless, passionate and just an incredible rugby mind. I am impressed with your knowledge of the game all over the world. Enjoy your time off.
Lions first try was correctly disallowed because the 12 was within 5m of the back of the scrum BEFORE the ball left the scrum. Therefore offside. Other than scrum halves, ALL backs, on both sides must be 5m back from the last feet of the scrum until the ball is out.
Im a munster first fan. But like the stormers too .that first half was brilliant all action rock solid by stormers.like as if a different team second half.i cannot understand it.
With regards to the goal kicking, you did not mention the wind which was very strong here, even by Cape Town standards. The ball needed to be held for the goal kicks. Well done Manie to get 2 kicks over, the Lions kicker didn’t get any.
The reason it is a card and not a penalty is that players used to happily cheat their tits off and give away a penalty. So WR decided to make cheating cost them more. Can't blame the law makers from trying to get cheating out of the game.
Hi Tim, here’s my thought on the disallowed try for offside off the scrum: according to World Rugby’s article 19.31 « all players not participating at the scrum remain at least five metres behind the hindmost foot of their team. ». I assume that the first receiver off the scrum was therefore too close to the scrum (less than 5m) when the pass was thrown (important precision: I haven’t seen the match nor the play in question so my interpretation may be wrong). It happened to Toulouse and Ntamack this month (in the Toulouse v Ulster game, I believe), didn’t know about this rule either before then.
@@n-tertainmentx-tended4760 Damian Willemse played for 2 seasons at inside centre predominantly and barely got injured. Nobody is standing in Sacha's way of getting the 10 jersey. Injuries does.
Easy red and i think he will get a few weeks more to come! Clumsy, reckless and stupid. Libbok is a target it seems as he is in for some real nasty treatment of late. Hope he is okay Sasha is a risk… locals in the know say he wont make it through a full season any time soon.
5m away from. Scrum both attack and defence. The attacker moved forward to collect the ball from the scrum half therfore broke the 5m rule, (ge run forward before the ball was out)
The Refereeing was abysmal - scandalous! I hope that he is censored by the URC. He has to be censored here in SA too, and I think the backlash is certainly coming from disgruntled fans!!
Libbok is a class act...But not his goal kicking....But as rassie said. That's a team problem not a Manie one...Sacha FM way , way overhyped ...Needs to pay dues ..hasn't yet .
I mean Manie has & never will be in Sacha's way of getting the pivot position. Libbok led the Stormers to a URC victory, playing 80 minutes week in & out. And didn't go off after that hit even tho he took a more destructive hit than Sacha did against the Sharks. Sacha's problem is injuries. And it's not because he's playing at 12. Damian Willemse has played predominantly at 12 for 2 seasons and barely got injured. I would like for Dobson to give the Stormers faithful what they want and put Libbok on the bench for fullback, let Sacha continue to be the general and let Manie just be there and pass in the last 20 minutes.
@thegreytone Manie hugely instrumental in Boks winning the pool match WC 2023 against Scotland and then even more important in getting Bokke over the line against France ...Sacha not yet ready to polish Manies boots ..
@@davidpells4298 Sacha has immense potential, but Libbok is the better fly-half. He was largely responsible for South Africa's good win record last year as well.
@thegreytone Sacha makes better headlines ..Ticks all the marketers boxes ....Manie is a kid from the Cape Flats . Not as erudite ,...No Kings English ...Fortunately John Dobson won't buy into the Sacha FM hype ..Not saying it's Sachas fault . Thank G for Pollard who got us the RWC. That is how a 10 should play, did you watch the Leicester vs Bulls game? Unfortunately Libbok is not on the same level.
Cape Town looks like good weather to visit. I'll be there in 2 weeks' time leaving Irish winter behind.
Very hot summer predicted, bring the sunblock.
@jerrybuirski2344 sunblock gives you cancer ..
Weather awesome, traffic unbearable
Pack big bags because you may not head home! Jokes I love Ireland. Enjoy!

@_Justin_Case have fun champ was at the stadium last year great stadium!!
Fourie’s a jolly good fellow.

This is happening all the time and rarely gets blown then.
You are right Lions first try was good, all backs were behind further most feet.
From a scrum as far as i know the backlines have to be 10m behind the scrum before the ball is out
Love youre content you certainly knows youre rugby thanks again for youre insight hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderfull new year
Bristol game is mental
It was unbelievably hot in the stadium- stood outside for the second half to cool down- cannot have kickoffs before sunset in peak summer
Sacha going down - this is not good seeing he jus came back from another injury

Manie kicks a cross kick behind his own goal line 😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️
But seriously how long before Dobson realizes Libbok can't kick for goal?
if he doesn't play the stormers will look lost the only way is tries
@subbie5498 You are a hardcore Manie fanboy I'll give you that.
@@hannesbornman1045 and he is right, Libbok is always dangerous with ball in hand.
Gale force winds today across cape town

Not just that, he needs to build his confidence again.
Deliberate knock ons should be a penalty, not a card. Unless it's within 5m of the try line.

I was in Cape Town today and it was unbelievably windy. Nearly gale force gusts, so kicking would have been very difficult.
It was windless in the stadium

The wind was howling in Cape Town yesterday, very difficult kicking conditions
I have to congratulate you on your A+ pronunciation of our players' names. They are understandably difficult, sometimes even for us South Africans. 😅
Mngomozulu should be 10. At inside center he's going to get smashed.

Morne v/d Berg did not move or picked up the ball and therefore is offside

My chom kry 'n lewe die ref was decent.
@@petervanzyl518 You mean “censured” not censored.
I agree, the ref was biased. Stormers were not convincing at all, especially against 14 players.
What % did the Lion's kicking achieve? I think Manie did better. No?
Big battle on who is the worst 10 in SA: Manie or Goosen, it is a close race!
Why can't Stormers play afternoon games all the time. I don't like when they play after 1900 which seems to very often
