Now that we are in season two, I wanted to get this off my chest remember the test director (coffee latte guy) if you go back and see he had the same patterns as bam’s fug crest in his room, the amount of attention to detail the story has is insane. Also SIU in a blog post once said he wanted do arcs upon arcs with different mcs before returning to the main story but since his health was getting worse he decided to remove the fluff from the story. (Sadly most of his earlier blogs are no longer available online, they were really fun)
from season 1 to 2 was a time skip of 5-6 years, and one fact about the anime/manwha is that the creator emphasized that the manwha has 4 main characters, Baam, Rachel, Yuri and Wangnan, so the focus of The story is not just about Baam, however, he is the one who has stood out the most out of all the other main characters.
At the beginning the reason the room confirmed that there was ten ppl when the dude with the gray hair walked was because it was counting the ppl bam had already taken out
we should note that, even at floor 20, most of the regulars are basically normal people. wangnan just buys grenades, silver-guy has a weapon, goeseng and miseng are basically just normal girls with some equipment, etc. so, our brown-haired friend _cracking the floor with a jab_ makes him by far the strongest guy in that room.
I actually didn't trust Rachel from the start. It's just because of what she said when she met Ban: "If someone hurt me or was mean to me you'd protect me, right?" or something along those lines. It just sounded like the kind of thing a manipulative villain would say.

Made in Abyss action was so sparse that I didn't notice it there plus the focus is more on the world in MIA while we get more plot/char development/action in ToG. Anyways ToG music sucked honestly and me being confused about it just show that I didn't even know it was the same guy on both therefore unbiased.
