Aikido practice is a jewel: work hard to polish and refine, and it becomes precious and valuable. Aikido practice is also a gift, share it and see its effect to transform lives. I know this from direct experience, it has changed mine totally. Aikido exists nowhere else but in each individual that practices seriously on the way.
Experience says Aikido is an art passed on through touch - the direct transmission between student and teacher. However, experience also teaches that it is transmitted through correct and careful instruction, with a shared curiosity between the teacher and student. A curiosity which is open to the feeling of not knowing and with it to the possibility of genuine change - in each and every moment.

Hello Lewis. Thank you very much for this pedagogic vidéo.
    May i ask you a question ?
I practice the 31 no jo kata since long years. Are you sure from mouvement 15 to 16, you have to cross the line when you go back ? The videos from saito sensei during years 80 confirm me the two mouvements are on the same line in slow motion or in fast motion. What is you final opinion about that ?
    Friendly yours !
    Philippe (from France)

Hello Phillipe. Sorry for my late reply but I was just forwarded your question. The form I show in the video is as far as I can remember the way I learned it from Sensei during my stay there. Moving off the line in move 16 is a logical move since you are in fact triangulating off the line of attack while subsequently entering with gedan gaeshi. However if you want another authoritative opinion check on this point I suggest you contact Ethan Weisgard (through Facebook) and ask him as he knows the details of Sensei's weapon system well. Hope that helps and Greetings. Lewis

Замедленная съёмка хорошо даёт рассмотреть все положения рук , ног, тела. Вобщем класс. Для начинающих незаменимое видео?

It would be much better for learning it if it was broken in three or four parts, but anyway I will try to learn it the best I can thanks for the video Antonio Jose Gonzalez ZN
