Always a pleasure to see Bumble leading the tour. Love the pull-down fly screens. That's something I've never seen on a boat. Something we are used to in North America is fly screens for windows. It would be nice to see more boats fitting out with those pull-down fly screens. Lovely boat, that packs in a lot, it would make an ideal vacation home for a family, or a live aboard for a couple (with a few tweaks, like adding in a small washer, & a small rollout freezer). Due to its age, I'm sure it would need some blackening and a newer survey done. A lot of features in a small package. I'm sure it will sell quickly. Happy cruising for the next owner.
For a smaller boat, it has everything needed! The rust in the bottom of the engine room would need looking at - but it would make an ideal family holiday boat!
Whoever put this together did a proper job. I have been in bran new boats at £250k that are not half as good on the layout. The asking price is high for her age so its all down to the hull condition. 2017 last survey is a long long time ago if the plating is on the edge of a replate at 3mm sides and 4mm base then it would have to be past .
34 years that steel has sat in its nemesis water. Survey 7 yrs ago. That’s the important unknown here … not the cosmetics … nice doors or pulley out things.
Amazing for its size, and I LOVE the bedroom! I just wish you would have taken a few seconds to clear out the junk from the aft cabin. It really does the boat a disservice and it comes across like a storage room rather than a reasonably livable saloon...!
It’s the hull confusion that counts at this age … not the interior. Steel immersed in water for 34 years…. Could be an expensive buy at 40k . Last survey was 7 years ago. Everyone seems to focus on the interiors?
Not a huge amount of difference when using on the canals, a flat bottomed boat is more stable when stepping on/off and moving about inside also when another boat goes by, you do get more floor height width inside which helps. A V-shaped hull is generally what you see on the ocean, large open bodies of water that are subject to waves(so they can cut through them) and fast flowing rivers as a v- hull will be faster. V- hulls are a little bit more tricky when taking out of the water and putting on the hard stand for maintenance. Springer made V-hull steel narrowboats from the late 1960's to the early 1990's and there's still a fair few of them about.
Lovely Boat but the only thing that lets it down is the thickness of the Hull etc. 8mm baseplate when manufactured. I should imagine that is even thinner after 30 plus years. Pity, lets a great looking boat down.
Excellent, this is one of the best layouts for a 48 foot boat I've ever seen, some one will snap this very soon.
Impressive interior, and delightful to see Bumble again!
Besides the bathroom I think this is my perfect boat 😍

What a stunner and great use of space for a 48’. Same as mine and it’s given me loads of ideas!!! 👍
Looks to have been very well looked after. Thank you.

Yep I noticed that 👁
That reminds me of the old Club 18-30 holidays advert about "Waking up at the crack of Dawn" 😂
That really packs a lot in for a smallish boat.
You do a gr8 commentary on these boats and good video work. I do like wee bumble. Best wishes grom NZ. May yet come and buy one off ya.
Very nice...well cared for and you can see it....often the boats are dirty with lack of maintenance. I would take this any day of the week.
£42,950
And 34 years old !
What a great boat! Hi, Bumble.
Brilliant!

Very nice boat. So glad you pronounced Nene the same way as I do 👍🏼😂🦆💕
New engine but didn't treat all the rust in the engine bay or paint it unbelievable
great little boat
She looks bigger than 48.Lovely boat inside and out

For her age she,s in immaculate condition!

This is the first I've heard of a v-shape hull on a narrowboat. Advantages? Disadvantages?

Nice boat. Not enough head height for me. Thanks for sharing.

The bulkhead doesn’t seem very secure with the large window and split doors.
Lovely Boat but the only thing that lets it down is the thickness of the Hull etc.

A definite seller. Would suit me fine.
Is it me or does it lower at the stern and if so is that normal. ?
You forgot to mention the helm seats that go under the taft rails with covers no less!....quick remove too...
I personally like being up at the crack of dawn.
Too much blue for me but a lovely little vessel ! Xxx
Why not say the price ?
What’ the askimg price? ❤
there is a price listed in comments of £42.950
I don’t want to like this boat. But I really do!
Beautiful but strange layout - would suite two pals with a "bedsit" at each end rather than one bedroom proper and one lounge proper.
Didn't see a washing machine
Obviously a green screen
What an unfortunate name for a narrowboat
Especially if your name is Dawn. 🙂
