I'm from Dallas and my kids mom was born in New Orleans but raised in Dallas. We used to go to NO at least 2/3 times a year. Her family originally grew up in Desire area ( I believe that's lower 9th ward. We used to be down there in the late 80's until Katrina. Her family moved to St. Bernard and we would spend the night there and then go over to one of her aunt's house off of Claiborne. But b4 Katrina they were all over the city. From Uptown, downtown, 7th ward, 9th ward, East New Orleans and West Bank. There was a store corner store off of 10 and Tulane that had the bomb shrimp po'boys.
