  • MTT developed a new mCHP solution based on a micro turbine instead of traditional internal combustion or stirling engines. Willy Ahout explaines the EnerTwin a micro CHP (Combined Heat and Power) system. More Information: www.bhkw-forum...

    1) What's the efficiency of this micro turbine?
    2) What's the power and power density of this unit?
    3) What steam pressure required to achieve maximum power?

Turbine replacement cost of 700-800 euro, 30k hr service life, 3kw output, ill take 3

A turbocharger doesn't reach the same temperatures as a gas turbine. If it's a recuperated gas turbine, then it gets even hotter. Does it only use standard turbocharger components? I would think that special materials would be used. Does it have a foil-air bearing?

Turbochargers absolutely hit the temperatures seen in older gas turbines, and the materials are similar. The problem is the pressure ratio which is abysmal, so the efficiency will be as well.

Which fuel does it use and how much of it per hour?

Pedro Camacho turbines will burn almost anything. For example diesel. At high rpm, it's as efficient as a piston engine

I want this instead of a large battery bank in an electric vehicle. Less weight, fast refueling, and low cost (at volume). Why is this taking so long for us to replace heavy batteries with micro turbines?

Hydrogen, natural gas and alcohol/methanol, will be the future of transportation I don’t know why people think it’s efficient to transmit power all the way to a charger instead of generating power from fuel on board, power isn’t fuel, fuel makes power so when you’re charging your car you’re still using fuel just less efficiently

@@AK88. either I click on the notification too fast or because you used the term green revolution your comment is hidden this world is so screwed most people don’t even know it I can’t wait until transformer explosions are an every day occurrence because there is an electric car charging in every house, I hope all you “environmentalists” love burning coal for your battery cars, I’m not against saving the air and earth I’m against inefficiencies like power lines that lose up to 40% by the time you get to your house, hell look at car batteries now they’re all stored in the truck and people wonder why the don’t last any more, well that’s what happens when you have to transmit power 8-9 feet instead on 2 or 3
