Emma, every time I watch these monthly vlogs, I can’t help but think what a wonderful literature teacher you would make. You make me excited to read all the books you speak about!
I love Farmer Boy so much! Probably because I'm partial to descriptions of food and the book is FULL of food. That passage you read might be the most intense. LOL And Anthony Howell is so dreamy in Wives and Daughters! I gave up buying books for Lent and it's killing me.
The Little House books are favorites from my childhood. I remember reading Farmer Boy to my children and being amazed at all the food descriptions (which I had obviously forgotten!). Not only did Almanzo love horses, but he also loved food! :)
I loved this vlog full of books, baking and rainy day walks! Delightful! I also love all of the Rodgers and Hammerstein TV movies. Julie Andrews, Lesley Ann Warren and Brandy are all great Cinderellas!
Yes, Leslie Ann Warren is the Cinderella I grew up with ( in the late '60s) my sister and I cried when the prince had to find Cinderella. Celeste Holmes ... Isn't she the Fairy Godmother? Also, here's some trivia, the Prince, Stuart Damon, played Dr Alan Quartermain on General Hospital for years. :) Bookish Princess, you are darling to watch.
Wonderful video as always! 💕 So lovely to see what books you are ringing in the Spring with! I’ve just finished reading Peter Pan and the Little Mermaid and I think I’ll finish the month reading some Terry Pratchett- his books are so funny and always feel springy to me 😊 can’t wait to participate in the Elizabeth Goudge read along and the Aladdin watch along 😊
Once again, I enjoyed this over my Saturday morning coffee and it was just lovely! Your rug is beautiful-I will have to keep it in mind for whenever I get a place of my own.
Rifle Paper rugs are so lovely. 😍 I'm so glad I bought the smaller one for my old room a few years ago - I'd been planning for a long time to get another bigger one, it's fun to window shop even when you're not ready to buy, and then it was super exciting to actually place the order. 😄
Such a lovely vlog Emma; I really love the way you furnish your new home: minimalistic in some way but still very cosy and cottage like vibe! Btw (by any chance), is the play Julius Caesar still available to watch - alas, I haven"t found it on the Globe channel? As I really appreciate Anthony Howell, I'm quite curious to see him perform Cassius.
I love that the subtitle for Henry VIII was purportedly "All Is True". That's really true; everything that everyone says in that play is true from their perspective. I think that's what makes this period so fascinating to study. Everyone thought they were in the right and it's historians' jobs to figure out how much truth there is in those perspectives.
Ohhhhh your new rug is perfection ✨ It complements the room so beautifully. Adore your reading vlogs Emma. I really do need to introduce some Goudge into my life me thinks 😊x
Omgg I finally found your channel!! I had changed my phone and I was searching for your channel heheheh!! Love your video...thanks for the vivid description. Sending love , hope you're safe❤❤
Thank you for sharing another lovely reading vlog! I love hearing your favorite quotes, especially the food quotes this month. Your Star Trek sweater is perfect. I'm currently watching through DS9 for the first time, and the characters and storylines are so intriguing!
I was soo excited when I saw your video pop up in my notifications :) I feel like these videos especially are always the reminder I need to settle myself with a treat and a good book. Loved the video, and it definitely made my week (which sadly was a tough week) soo much brighter. xoKira
Emma, you’re not going to believe this, but a couple of years ago I read a mystery series called Edinburgh Midnight and as I read the books, I pictured an actor whose name I couldn’t recall as the main character. Since then I’ve wracked my brain trying to figure out who this actor is. I even spent some time on Google searching for “Scottish actors with brown hair” to no avail. The actor is THAT GUY in the play! 😂 You don’t know how relieved I am to finally have a name. You don’t know how fun and satisfying it is watching you set up your home. 🧡
Thank you for organizing, it was so much fun! 😄 I took a watercolor class once so that really helped, adding more pigment can create shadows and shapes to make objects stand out. I'm definitely still a newbie though, I would love to get better. Can't wait for the Zoom discussion!
I’m currently reading the Complete Lord Peter Wimsey stories by Dorothy Sayers. Great fun. But who would name their child Death? PDBW. Now that is creative.

I always think that, too. She gives off these great "teacher vibes"!
Aww thanks!
Your apartment looks so cute with the new bookcases. 📚 Your painting of the house in Switzerland is so pretty! 🏡 Hope you have a blessed Palm Sunday!

I love Brandy and that version too, they're all so good! Those songs are just amazing. 😍

Bookish Princess, you are darling to watch.
I love how you mention the details that most people seem to skim over; let alone delight in--I love to know what is in Almanzo's pantry! :)
That's so lovely to hear. I love those little details! Almanzo's pantry just sounds like it's bursting with good things. 😍

Those sound like excellent reads! Yay, can't wait for Goudge & Aladdin. 😄
Oh my now I need to re-read the Little House series! So nostalgic! Also, I need to buy a knitting kit! That looks so fun!
Once again, I enjoyed this over my Saturday morning coffee and it was just lovely! Your rug is beautiful-I will have to keep it in mind for whenever I get a place of my own.

Your videos feel so cozy and warm 😊🌸
Antnony Howell also starred in Wives and Daughters, the BBC drama, written by Elizabeth Gaskell, which you would enjoy watching I'm sure. X
Ahhh I forgot about him in Wives and Daughters, I loved that adaptation!

I spent sooo long deciding which rug to get, but I really love that design, I'm so excited to have it! Hope to see you for the read along in April! 😄👍

Thanks! It has been lovely to get everything decorated. 😊
That handsome actor is Anthony Howell--he was in my absolute favorite show, Foyle's War. Highly recommend!
I loved Foyle's War, I need to rewatch it sometime!
Anthony Howell was also in wives and daughters. He was wonderful in that too. I highly recommend the movie.
Just got my Cath Kidston order. Love my new tea towels. Delivery was fast. Thanks for the recommendation.
Mail days are always exciting. 😄📦 That's so lovely to hear!

Oh my gosh, I love that. 😂 Anthony Howell is officially THAT GUY. Aww and thank you so much, that’s so lovely to hear.
Emma, that outfit you ordered from Macy’s is perfection! Is it possible for you to link the pieces when you get the chance?
Actually, I think I just found it in the mauve color in my size 🤗
Haha! You filmed us filming ourselves live?! META EMMA! 😆 That was do fun and productive. Thank you again for joining Kate and me!
The houses in your Switzerland painting are soooo good! I can never get the dimensions and angles right on buildings. Do you use rulers?
It upset me, too, how Marly's family treated her 😪 I hope we get to talk about that on Zoom!
Thank you for organizing, it was so much fun! 😄 I took a watercolor class once so that really helped, adding more pigment can create shadows and shapes to make objects stand out. I'm definitely still a newbie though, I would love to get better. Can't wait for the Zoom discussion!
Love your videos 💕
Thank you so much! 😊

It's crazy, such a dramatic name!
i love your reading vlogs so much! such fun but also very relaxing videos! ❤❤❤
Thanks! 😊📚
I am really enjoying the two new Star Trek series on CBS - Discovery and Picard. Have you watched and what do you think?
I just watched Caesar at the Globe for the Ides of March too! Thought the actor playing Mark Antony yelled his lines too much.
It was the perfect thing to watch on March 15th!
Anthony Howell was foyle war and wives and daughters .🥰❤️he is the best love him
He is awesome!
I think Henry VIII was one of his later plays so it was probably James on the throne.
