I think the lack of music, replaced with the sounds of the wind, waves and the sea make for a nice change.

I like the raw experience without the music... We get more info and less fluff! It would be different if you were playing stereo in the cabin or on deck.

Not being a sailor, dock vs anchor is never something I've had to consider. It's interesting hearing your pros and cons on the two based on your experience. Your videos are like a window into a place I've never known and I appreciate your sharing it. And I hadn't even noticed that there was no music. I kind of liked the natural sounds of the wind and water.

You said everything I was trying to but couldn't articulate well. Thanks. I agree with you on perspective and natural sounds. Cheers!

When your're at anchor, your bow is always pointed windward. With the forward hatch open, the breeze goes through the cabin. Marinas are usually located where they are protected from the wind so they can be stifling.

We prefer to anchor, too, especially in places like the Bahamas. But, sometimes, we just have to get off the boat. We were in Spanish Wells a couple of years ago, and put in at a marina that had cottages to rent that we could see our boat from out the eindow. We went nuts and stayed in one if the cottage for three nights. We dropped a grand, but sometimes you have to take a vacation from your vacation. And, doing laundry every couple of weeks is a biggie.

Wrightsville beach is a good anchorage. They have a dinghy dock and it is waking distance to West Marine, hardware, restaurants and the grocery and it is a short walk to the beach.

I suggest getting polarized filters for your cameras, that way we can see more contrast in the water from above. That way next time you go to the Caribbean you can show the dolphins and fish better. It cuts down on water reflection. if you already have them, disregard this message. Keep up the good work!

So cool. Georgetown is my home town where I live. I’ve shrimped at the end of the jetties. North jetty is called the mud hole and the south jetty is called the south mound. North inlet is a beautiful place, it’s the next smaller inlet to the north. When we are shrimping and it gets rough we anchor in front of the light house.
Actually me and some friends just went up to the light house in a small boat. North inlet has the best oysters in the world.

I suppose part of your marina costs come about by you having 2 boats tied together, rather than just 1 boat but it all adds up. Biggest factors I think are energy, which you are on top, and company, which you are also on top of. My home is a HR38 and I'm single handed so I do need people nearby, from time to time. Also I haven't gone as far as fitting panels yet, partly because it's not straight forward on my boat and I'm still sorting out technical issues which are still there having only recently bought my boat; a good chandler on hand is often necessary. Another factor you touched on is how safe and sheltered anchorages are. I'm currently in southern England and there seems to be little good anchorage space here, unless you head up the rivers. Would like to spend more time at anchor though.

Another great video. And while the atmospheric feel of this with wind, and waves and no music was really cool, music does have a place and I have enjoyed your selections as your editing style has matured.
I suspect you are heading back out of New England and back to warmer climes now. I'm not sure how to say this last part, so I will just say it: rare is the day when the thought of all of you and the hope you that remain safe doesn't cross my mind. $70 a nite! Ouch! That's a nice dinner for two somewhere. But I'm cheap. And I enjoyed no music, and learning about how to live on a boat. I have never been on a boat so I have zero clue what it's like. I have enjoyed your videos so much. I find them so relaxing. I love water. I would like to see more diving as well. Do you guys have any sort of protection against bad people? Are pirates ever a concern? I've heard they're still a thing, but didn't know if that was true. I would keep a fresh water bottle with some mint essential oils in it...squirt it around the perimeter and it will deter rats. In Phoenix roof rats are a big problem. We put metal flashing around tree trunks, primarily fruit trees, about two feet in height. It makes it too slippery for the rats to climb. Creepily enough, we need two feet because they're pretty big and can stretch about a foot *shudder*. Wonder if there's a way to do something similar on your lines that they may have access to? Just a thought. 💖

This is probably a stupid question to ask. But you’ve done a lot of cruising up and down the coast and to the Bahamas in your catamaran. Have you ever known anyone that is going up and down the coast and maybe to the Bahamas in one of them pontoon houseboats.
