I am grateful to have had the opportunity to sit and learn from Kenny Smith. Amazing person and a great teacher, 👍
I hope our paths may cross again soon

There are so many damn incredible guitar players out there today but Kenny Smith to my ear has a sense of taste rhythm and sensuality and how he plays it just knocks my socks off. Keep it up Mr. Smith

Beautiful picking and wonderful stories about those fine, old D-18s. That ‘38 has a very friendly and wide open voice; I could listen to that guitar all day! Thank you for sharing this.

Wow! Beautiful Martin guitars and the tone is phenomenal. Kenny that hike must have got your endorphins going! Just a sheer joy to hear you play.

I've been lucky to play those guitars...they're special. Kenny is just so dang good and demonstrating guitars and what they have to offer. Picked a lot with both of those guys and it is always fun and informative.

Does the 38 have the F.S. bracing or the later rear shifted bracing that Martin started using in mid-late 38'?

Wow nice to see you both , Kenny is one of my favorite pickers .. Tell Amanda the Dairy Queen at White Oaks Mall keeps asking about her ...haha

They're both awesome guitars but Marilyn just has that something extra. Sounds amazing in the hands of a master!

Out of the two, I love deacon’s sound the best.

Beautiful sounds, Kenny. I don't know why you would remember, but I was in your guitar class at Homestead High School (which you ended up teaching). I had no idea what you were talking about, preferring to make up my own guitar language (which I still do). Anyway, I live in Friday Harbor Washington. Do you still play in Leavenworth?

I live in Bellingham but used to keep my boat in Fri Harb. Used to get together with Steve Dyer some. If you still live there we should connect sometime. Vic Cano

Incredible tone , balance and resonance on both. Were both set up the same in action height and strings? What strings were used here

I think Rob uses Elixirs, but I don't remember..

Hi Kenny. I believe you prefer nickle D'Addarios.. curious what strings are on Rob Newsom's D-18s. ?

It really looks like the saddle is closer to the soundhole on Deacon, maybe that's why it feels like it has less tension?

I think Kenny could play a Popsicle stick and make it sound great. Absolutely not a double stick one either! Love his melodic ways.
