Originally thought to be around 37,000 levels, upon further review there are over 69,000 #DGR levels in Mario Maker 2. And we plan on playing them all...

the 1st 2 DGR levels were uploaded on the 28th in their country but because of timezones it appears to be on the 27th

My brain went to the software engineer side where maybe there was an error that caused a bunch of levels to have their “created at” value erased, so they had to backfill the database with a default value of the release date for those corrupted rows.
Saving localized timestamps to a database is typically frowned upon for this exact reason.

the stages uploaded before the release date were either from players living in countries where it was already release day for that country or they are from review copies they got
It's purely time zone stuff.
At this point dgr needs to do the uncleared level series on just the dgr levels because there are so many 😂

You can tell the second level creator wasn't familiar with all the new features because they put spike traps after the checkpoint to take your mushroom even though checkpoints don't give you power ups unless you want them to. Also, if it _did_ you could easily get past that with it.

Some of them uploaded before the *US's* official release date because Europe gets Nintendo games several hours before us. They release them based on local time.

It’s interesting how you can see the early beginnings of more elaborate troll levels in these stages, even if they aren’t fully fleshed out yet.
I feel like the only reason the ones are a day before release might actually be because of your timezone. It could have been released on the release day for Australian time zone.
That's exactly the reason. The eastern states of Australia are approximately 17 hours ahead of the USA, so its going to appear as if the level was uploaded before official release.
Even though some levels are old, they are kinda nostalgic for some reason

Y'know, thinking about it. Those "early" levels could have been from one of two things
Either bugtesters, or people in a timezone that put them in release date before the rest of the world. Example - Japan is 13hrs ahead of the EST timezone. (which is toronto and new york) So..
Yeah, all those creators had flags for either UK or a European country. It was day 1, just in an earlier timezone.
I find it interesting that the first DGR levels of SMM2 were made even before Dave got a chance to play the game.
I'm pretty sure #DGR levels gained their notoriety all the way back in SMM1.

It just dawned on me that the upside down levels are not rotated upside down. They are reflected. Look at the text on the on off blocks! ON would read NO if rotated.

@DGR_Dave England and Sweden are in later time zones than the US. When the game became available to play in Europe on 6/28, you were probably just finishing supper on 6/27.

The reason those 6/27 levels are there is so there would be some creator content to play. For Endless Mario, Multiplayer, and to encourage others to make their own levels.

On Saturday, he was going to check the mail. He was wearing backless sandals, and is a fairly impatient man. When he saw a car approaching, he started running, rather than let the car pass. A sandal came loose, and he took a nasty fall, leaving him in a lot of pain and requiring the driver of the aforementioned car to help him up.
My mother took him to the hospital, and after hours of being shuffled between three urgent care facilities, they were able to get his hips scanned...and he fell so hard, he broke his pelvis.
