She seems like despite all she's dealt with, like being made fun of by the entire world when you're only 13, she seems like she's got a good head on her shoulders and a really mature, positive outlook on life. I wish her nothing but the best.
Not talking about her wealth. Whether she's rich or not, I can't imagine how hard it was to be a 13 year old and having the entire world laughing and making fun of you. It's hard enough to be bullied in school when you're that age. Can you imagine the mental anguish she went through from that? At 13 you're just trying to find out who you are. Which I assume would be really hard when everyone in the world is dissecting, commenting, and making fun of your voice, your looks, etc. Doesn't matter how much money your parents have..that's gotta hurt.

either way, doesn't matter if she was 13 cause people just hated for no reason, she could 18 and it wouldn't really matter what age, she can think like any other person over her age so idk why people are being so cruel
I remember when the song came out, I was 17 at the time...It wasn't vulgar, it was obnoxious, yes, but it's a song for KIDS, and I never thought for one second to leave a hateful or insulting comment. I just skipped the song after one minute because I didn't like it. Why people can't express their dislike for something without insulting? Especially when you're talking about a KID, a 13 y/o KID
Shame on everyone who wrote hate comments to a 13yr old girl big ups to her for pulling through, alot of young kids don't always make it through on the mass level of hate she got, you hear suicides left and right with kids with shit like that happening.

As the father of a 14 year old who is being bullied online, I wish with all my heart that the reality for Miss Black had been the happy, carefree girl in the video.
I really enjoy her positive attitude towards her situation from the past. You can really tell she has moved on , and can even embrace the challenges from the past.
Imagine experiencing this at 13. Sad that the whole world bullied Rebecca. She's grown into a beautiful woman and she seems very capable. Everyone can sing, if you know how to work with your voice.
I saw Rebecca open for Man Man in Austin, and she steadfastly refused to perform "Friday". I got the impression she wanted to move on and not be defined by that song.
I have so much respect for her after watching this. Everyone loves a witch hunt, jump in the hate wagon, and making fun of others is as easy as a keyboard away... I was one of the people who enjoyed the parodies, etc... but I didn't hate her, just don't like the melody...
I can’t imagine what she must of went through as a 13 year old where it felt like the whole world hated you. She got death threats! As a child! She didn’t deserve this and it’s amazing how strong she is and how she got through this.
First time I hear this song, and as a mature middle aged adult, I can say that I found it so refreshing. It reminded me of teenage years with hopes, dreams, friends and parties. Lots of innocence there. Why make fun of this while 90% of songs out there have idiotic texts.
its like the song was a shortcut to fame for her. she went viral and known quickly, but at the cost of ridicule and jokes. good to see shes doing fine and taking the right mindsets and paths.
She probably should have, in this world today? Its the same fucking insults but now masquerading as "jokes". Jokes... Ruining the one thing that makes us laugh by turning it into a way to express anger without seeming angry, everyone supporting them.
L Z the first time i heard the Balck Eyed Pees song “tonight’s gonna be a good night” I thought it was an actual & quite funny joke.. i was weirdly embarrassed to realize i was way off, like, “oh that’s a real song??!”
Mihir Savkar on a technical standpoint, not really. Sound mixing was better, lyrics are equally trash and at least Gucci gang has a redeemable beat. lil pump is low tier artist but pre Gucci gang music actually wasn’t bad.
100% agree! this could have broken anyone, it probably would have broken me, but she's still staying strong and keeping at it, and is now a beautiful young woman with an amazing voice, a sustainable career, and success in her field. we all have to make mistakes to learn. she made a huge mistake, but consequently she learned a huge amount and is better for her experiences. props to her for that strength and determination, seriously
I was 20 when the song came out. I thought it was cute, just a middle schooler living her best life. When you’re significantly older, you don’t see kids as equals and you judge less. I am grateful to have come of age before social media really took off. Poor Gen Z, having to subject themselves to the internet’s scrutiny 24-7 as children. Good on Rebecca for overcoming that and making her own career.
i was a kid when this came out and we all loved it. I remember singing it with my friends during recess, and then it making a resurgence in high school where people would sing it in the halls. none of us were negative about it, so imagine my shock when i come to find out the internet hates it
Get mad at Clarence jay and Patrice Wilson. The ones who actually wrote the song. Not the supposed thirteen year old writer. People need to do their homework
In the end, even if the song sucked, you got millions and millions of people to laugh and enjoy their time on Fridays. Every week we made fun of that song and every week we had a great laugh. Not many things can get such a reaction out of people. As an adult today, I'm happy that song was made.
I was still working in an office when this video came out. Every Friday my co-workers and I were happy that work is gonna be over and we’d sing this song. It’s just that iconic.
wow. a lot of the clips in this truly make you realize: grown-ass adults were mocking and essentially cyberbullying an innocent 13 y/old on the internet and somehow she turned it into a positive experience for herself. rebecca black is the perfect example of an optimist don’t @ me
She grew up in a big way, and despite the embarrassing context in how she found a little fame, she's learned to accept it and move on, which says a lot more about her than a video ever could.
Can we take a break and observe how stunning she looks? She's incredibly feminine, sensual and sexy and I bet tons of girls would crave her attitude. I think she really re-invented herself and her self-esteem
Dont feel bad for her - she built her own audience and never stopped, and the GLOW UP is amazing! Love to see it, may we all have a comeback story like this in our lifetimes.
This song was my childhood and my friends and I would sing to it all time so I have really good memories attached to it. Even though Rebecca seems ashamed of the song, I hope she knows she has a special place in my childhood heart! The hate for this song was so unexpected I couldn’t even understand it and looking back it was just super intense cyberbullying on a CHILD, not the producers or team behind it???? Y’all should be ashamed tbh
I really don't understand why the hates are so much. I know the lyrics are stale but she didn't write them. Her singing wasn't good, that is because she wasn't professionally trained. From all i know she was just a random normal girl who wanted to try to do something fun and exciting.
The likes/dislikes don’t reflect the same general attitude people had in real life. There were still people who enjoyed singing “Baby”, but her song was DEEPLY hated by everyone.
I'll never understand how ADULTS send so much hate towards things that weren't even marketed to them. Baby was marketed for pre-teen girls and sang by a 13 year old kid. They're not supposed to like it lol.

She was 13 though. She didn't deserve the hate she got.
For real, she was a kid.
I agree.
either way, doesn't matter if she was 13 cause people just hated for no reason, she could 18 and it wouldn't really matter what age, she can think like any other person over her age so idk why people are being so cruel
your acting like shes the only one. justin bieber got so much hate at like 10 years old , who cares.
Rebecca: “I made the most hated video on TH-cam “

Imagine experiencing this at 13. Sad that the whole world bullied Rebecca. She's grown into a beautiful woman and she seems very capable. Everyone can sing, if you know how to work with your voice.
I saw Rebecca open for Man Man in Austin, and she steadfastly refused to perform "Friday". I got the impression she wanted to move on and not be defined by that song.
WTFungus Great show!
Her song Saturday is good though

I have so much respect for her after watching this. Everyone loves a witch hunt, jump in the hate wagon, and making fun of others is as easy as a keyboard away... I was one of the people who enjoyed the parodies, etc... but I didn't hate her, just don't like the melody...
I can’t imagine what she must of went through as a 13 year old where it felt like the whole world hated you. She got death threats! As a child! She didn’t deserve this and it’s amazing how strong she is and how she got through this.

we all have to make mistakes to learn. she made a huge mistake, but consequently she learned a huge amount and is better for her experiences.
props to her for that strength and determination, seriously
I don't think you know what the word "legend" means.
She should’ve just said it was a parody of pop music. It was all just a spoof. She would’ve been a legend
"Well, why doesn't everybody 'just stop'?" NICE response. Love it. So much wisdom at such a young age.
i was a kid when this came out and we all loved it.
I don't think they intended for her to receive the hate she did.
@Lats Niebling death threats isn't 'great'. wtf

I really don't understand why the hates are so much. I know the lyrics are stale but she didn't write them. Her singing wasn't good, that is because she wasn't professionally trained. From all i know she was just a random normal girl who wanted to try to do something fun and exciting.
