Do you save seeds from your brassicas? I’ve never tried but the home saved peas I saved last year have germinated and grown soooooo much better than the shop bought seed. As for those pesky slugs you need a hedgehog! Or maybe ducks …. We are very lucky that the last couple years we have had a hedgehog hanging around, I think there’s a rescue near here.❤ Like you say things will catch up - keep going!
I do need ducks! Definitely on the list. Hoping I can entice some more wildlife to my property as the food forest establishes. Fingers crossed for some hedgehogs. I haven't saved brassica seeds yet - must look into this. I think these PSBs and sprouts are F1 so I'll leave those but maybe the kale...? Need to do some research
Sound like today here cold 9c and overcast with rain on the way 🤷♀️. I’ve been lucky so far with slugs 🐌 not getting to many things. I heard dabbing some Vicks vapours on the bottoms of the legs of those shelves helps keep them off. But you’d need to make sure none are hiding under the pots and they can’t get up the plastic walls. A real challenge isn’t it. Have a safe weekend and hope the storm passes you by, Ali 🌦️🇨🇦
Vicks! Well I never. Great tip, thanks. Storm has been quite brutal here - haven't ventured out much in the last few days! Seems to have calmed down out there now thankfully not too much damage done.
