Thank you for posting this! I went to this school for 7th grade in 2012-2013. My grandpa was a student and teacher there as well. It was my favorite school, and it had so much history and character to it. So sad to see how bad it has become in the past 10 years since I was a student there. I wish it wouldn't have got this bad and that someone would have made something of it before the water damage. Thanks again, I have always wanted to see how it was since they decided to tear it down.

Went there from 2009-2010. Whenever we’d have presentations in the auditorium paint chips would fall off the ceiling and into our laps. And there were some classrooms and hallways where if you put a rubber ball on the floor it would roll hard one direction or another. I had a lot of good memories there and it was a great environment and inspiration for a “haunted middle school” story I wrote when I was 12 lol also the “nuclear fallout shelter” signs that hung up in the hallways were a nice added touch.

This video got me thinking about my old elementary school. I wish I could have explored it after it was shut down. But, it's now part of a college campus and still stands and is being used for a purpose. A rarity for a building so old.
While watching your video, I kept imagining the normal day to day that would have been going on and thinking about my Jr. High days. Nothing I'd ever want to re-live though.

At -- 36 : 25 -- You look down the hallway and see a black figure at the door and it dissapears before you completely pan a way.
In the latter part in the auditorium when you were by the left side of the stage panning at the stairs, there's a white dot seen on a seat, you look up from that to the upper part by the door on the right side and it looks like a figure standing there watching you, also looks like figures (probably just light shaddows ) in the lite by sunlight doorway.
Sad to see the school go. I wonder how many performances were given there, how many 'honnour students' walked across the stage with their parents proudly watching, how many walked across the stage to pick up their diplomas?
It's been 42 yrs since I left John Potter Stevens High School. I went on the satilight maps and saw my 'old' high school and it's way bigger now, and has a stadium which when I went there the school was so new it didn't have one then. Graduation was held at the Edison H.S., in Edison, New Jersey.
I played in band & speech and drama in both J.P. Stevens and Edison high😁, plus the American Legion band, & had a music group The Love Tones.
I was the only girl in the American Legion band at the time and had waist long hair. We played in a theater were two drunk guys were behind my parents stateing;" Look at the long haired hippy in the Legion..." . Outside they were in the water fountain fighting and still argueing...Duh !
Thanks for the fine job documentmenting the school and the 'ORB' was a good catch. Lots of kids long gone alot of them now from when the 1st school was built there.
I wonder when it was that the last 'school bells' rang to signal the next class period, or end of the school day dismissal bell rang, then was sielanced for good.
The music was cool, the sielances were cool and the music jump scares were fun too. The use of black and white, felt like that was the scool in past years, then back to colour seemed like present times.
What a waste!! The place could have remained a learning center like a trade school, and housed alot of homelesd folks that could have stayed there for short periods of time, long enough to learn a trade and maybe get a GED. Could have taught making clothes and shoes too.
But the excuse for a 'gov' is too busy trying to distory America and also now, starve American babys as the baby food is at the BORDER, while American's have empty shelves.
Just CRAZY !!! TAKE CARE! 🤘👻💖

@@JOEYUNDERGROUND Thanks. I tried to ignore him. All the teachers knew about it. That’s not the only thing he did to me. He would steal my lunch, push me into lockers and walls, punch me and threaten me on a daily basis. This went on for about half of the year. It just boiled over one day and he pushed me into a wall on my way outside to wait for my bus to go home. I couldn’t take it anymore. All the teachers turned a blind eye to everything he was doing. So on that day he pushed me into that wall, I put my stuff down and we got in a fist fight. Only then did the teachers care. The computer teacher came over and, I’m not sure where he took that kid but he took me outside where the principal was. The principal was going to give me 4 hours detention for basically defending myself. My dad called the school in a fury. Telling the principal how I was being bullied daily and nobody did anything about it even though they knew what was going on. The outcome was that I was excused from serving the 4 hours detention. The principal said “just don’t do it again”. I thought “are you serious? What did you or anybody else on the staff do to help me? I had to take matters into my own hands not because I wanted to but because I had to”. That kid didn’t bully me after that. Although at lunch one day, he looked at me and, in a angry cocky voice, said “how bout a rematch!”. That’s the last time I remember seeing him. I don’t know nor care what happened to him.

Thats insane! Sadly it happens way too much and I guess it always did and always will. Too many angry/insecure kids out there that love to spread misery. They don't realize that it affects some people forever. Then again maybe they are so screwed up that they want it to. Sorry you had to deal with that but at least you defended yourself and it stopped. Too many sick people out there that enjoy torturing others. Those same people are tortured souls to be able to project their sickness onto people who don't deserve it.

It's not unusual in my experience for people to do that as a prank or for photo shoots in hospitals but in this case it definitely looked real. What made me realize it was fake was the fact that the footprints were patternized in a way where you could tell it was purposely done. The blood was definitely overdone but it was definitely a good attempt.

Sadly it seems to be the same story no matter where I film. I don't understand it. I've been exploring abandonment since I was about 7 years old. Starting with an abandoned house in my neighborhood and I've never had to destroy them. I just like to explore them. I started documenting them only 5 years ago for the sole purpose of what once was. After this place is gone the next generation will care less.
