BTW some joker commented i staged the crypt segment "for views" this is 100% real find in real time on the video. i didnt have the idea to use the pick in the this video until few days after i found it. if i thought if it id have taken better video of me picking it up! In fact i shot a fake scene where i found it on the property in the grass .. and then i remember this scene was on the goPro!
I didn't see it in the top comments so I'll ask the obvious question, why were you exploring a graveyard? Going by the poor condition open and empty crypt, plus all the vegetation, I'd guess it's abandoned or nearly so. Cool axe build and all, but now ya got me curious too! Though I'm not interested in the location. (which is probably a long way away anyhow) Anyhow, thanks for the question-raising video! XD
I'm a little envious of his tools but I am a lot more envious of his ability to use them. You can have all of the best tools money can buy but if you don't know how to use them, they might as well be made of straw.
Boy, what a welding job. You'd have never known that was two pieces by looking at it. Nice job brother. And I'm still in awe of your band saw skills. Deep respect.
From rust & all of this plus part of that with heavy current & wire they are married to look as if born that way, then from branch comes a handle and with grind & hone comes a razors edge to give strength & double purpose to things that otherwise would decay to nothing. Magnificent & so uplifting! Thank you for sharing!
Ahhh, the little creepy baby hands, lovingly caressing the frankenaxe are the cherry on the sundae that is this video. Excellent work as usual good sir!
I don't always like videos of making old things look like new, sometimes they lose their character. This was amazing, though, and I absolutely love it! It looks like one solid piece of metal, brand new and beautiful! A true work of art, well done
I am amazed every time you carve an axe handle using just the band saw....simply awesome!!...gonna watch the video again just for that scene!!!...keep up the great vids...Happy LDW!!!
Now that's a buffer! Excellent job, Jimmy! Great demonstration of blending the weld and of bringing a heavily rusted object to a shine! Love your work - I'm inspired to head to the shop right now.
I used to get fired up about how slow I am at building shit. Then when Instagram stories and I started listening to your podcast. Good things come from time. Thanks for the motivation! I appreciate it.
Absolutely beautiful work. I love that you kept the little off cut from the axe head to show the before and after. Amazing to see how you can bring an old piece of rusty steel back to life!
My band in college was called Franken Axe. We toured extensively but broke up when I had the premonition that you'd make this tool and name it "Franken Axe". Great build, Jimmy! Use can also use it against the trolls...
I can't get over how much more educational & entertaining your videos are where you actually make something instead of buy it. Compared to some wanna be hack like the wrangler who just makes videos of all the cool stuff you can order off amazon if your wife is a lawyer. And tries to pass it off as homesteading.
Exactly David! Wranglermart epitomizes the definition of the type of guy that's a tool! No doubt this axe isn't "proper" to him and not up to fire dept. Recommended specs or some other long winded BS
When it comes to making axes, not only ydo you have it down, you inspire other to try and make one themselves. Then you realise how good you make the proces look. Amazing as always brother. Well done!
What an artist! I will say, I was on edge every time you slowed the speed of the shot down. I thought we were about to see an accident or a tool explode! Great job on this restoration!!
It's been a long time since I've used a band saw.....but I have never used it like you do...sweet, pick up something new each day :) Nice build, great job, nice collection of tools too. I hope you have a great day & be safe.
I love your videos, they give me a lot of inspiration to get up and make something but sometimes I forget who I'm watching and I turn my volume up and get ear assaulted everytime.
A rusting away piece of junk, to almost anyone else, from a crypt and an old farmstead axe from behind the barn. Now they are become something new and coveted! Truly the work of someone special.
The pigment has to be oil soluble - I buy pure dry pigment at DeSerres. Goes in everything I have tried to use as a carrier, varnish, both oil and water based, linseed oil, epoxy, Don't be intimidated at the price, a little goes a long way.
What a amazing job. And this will be for the generation to come. I am so happy that there are people like you out there taking care of the tools that pur parents, grandparents and before have made. Wish you a great week. best wishes from Jan in Norway
bendingsands87 everyone changes and evolves. It’s so stupid that everyone expects something specific. Jimmys an artist and craftsman and shares his builds on TH-cam. I don’t understand why people feel entitled to except something from someone like he’s here just for you. If people want consistency go to McDonald’s were your paying for something specific
Yes, it is amazing that because Jimmy Diresta places his clearly identifiable logo (his stencil font name) on every creation in every video up to this point that we should expect his next creation to have his logo on it! "It's so stupid," is not a complimentary contribution to this comment thread. One can make comments about a blip in Jimmy Diresta's consistency and not have it interpreted as an attack on his artistic skills. Corrections to your post should include "Jimmys - Jimmy's", "except - expect", "were - where", "your - you're". If you have to be insulting, at least make it with correct grammar, eh?
That's actually my favorite part of diresta's videos, when he does something I wouldn't have. That's when I'm like, well now I wanna do it so I can do it this other way.
jimmydiresta, great video. I wish I knew what you forgot. The idea of mating the two axes is brilliant. I love your band saw techniques. I would be missing digits but I love it nonetheless. I don't think for one second you stage anything. Your building skills are brilliant. Keep them coming.
Your passion for your work always motivates us to build our own projects, just by watching you I leaned alot of tips and tricks. Thanks Mr. Jimmy and love you :)
Those two pieces really look as though they were made to be put together (after you added your magic touch!). It's a beautifully created piece. I love that you showed the parts you cut off to remind us how it all started!
I love your videos and as much as I love that ax, firefighters keep a dull, working edge on their axes, as they're usually swung in a crowded area that's often filled with smoke and low visibility.
BTW some joker commented i staged the crypt segment "for views" this is 100% real find in real time on the video. i didnt have the idea to use the pick in the this video until few days after i found it. if i thought if it id have taken better video of me picking it up! How does anyone know there's a crypt scene without watching? Makesnowcents
So is taking that pick from that crypt legal. Just wondering not trying to cause any trouble. Anyway awesome video jimmy

jimmydiresta The Axe is awesome
jimmydiresta I would never care if you faked a find shot. You making it is real and that’s all that matters.
Is anybody else envious of the sheer amount of tools this guy gets to play around with i mean seriously his place is like tool heaven
I'm a little envious of his tools but I am a lot more envious of his ability to use them.
You can have all of the best tools money can buy but if you don't know how to use them, they might as well be made of straw.
He has a makerspace fit for monthly membership all to himself if he wants.its a dream come true
I know, that jointer he used has me drooling
I'm just wondering why, with all the tools he has, he chose to use his saw for all the shaping
@@g4mmalotus937 Because he's just really good at it and that's what he's most comfortable with, probably.
Jimmy you really are an artist. I’ve been in awe of your skills for years, you never let your fans down.
Boy, what a welding job. You'd have never known that was two pieces by looking at it.
Nice job brother.
And I'm still in awe of your band saw skills.
Deep respect.
You make shaping that handle with the band saw look easy
cool build! great blending work on both the head and handle. shame it's haunted though. :)
hello there! nice videos
with the power of this haunted axe shall summon a demon from Hell and let me to use his power at my will......
Kinda cool if ya ask.
Then you just get a damage boost
From rust & all of this plus part of that with heavy current & wire they are married to look as if born that way, then from branch comes a handle and with grind & hone comes a razors edge to give strength & double purpose to things that otherwise would decay to nothing. The hands on the sticks crack me up..... excellent work, by the way.
Dave Amos Kinda creepy, if you ask me, LOL.
I know, right? Felt almost voyeuristic watching it...
Those teeny liddle Trump hands are a RIOT..!
Je vous regarde tous les soirs on a du plaisir de vous voir on apprend beaucoup de choses avec vous mr diresta Jimmy
I love that handle, the curves are perfect!
Thank you fort this chef d'œuvre and Allah Bless you fort the good vidéo Kamel from Tunisia (North Africa).

Always a good day when a new DIRESTA video pops up. Awesome work.
I have never seen somebody so skilled with bandsaw my respect belongs to you

These are the videos I miss the most!
Yeessss!! Agreed!
I used to get fired up about how slow I am at building shit. Then when Instagram stories and I started listening to your podcast. Good things come from time. Thanks for the motivation! I appreciate it.
You just created the perfect zombie weapon. Congrats on being the chosen one to defend us against the coming hordes.
Your skill at making axe handles is the most satisfying thing to watch.
While that slo mo of the grinding was going on I thought for sure the disc was going to explode
Lol, me too! I was waiting for it!
I thought something was going to catch on fire.
Me too, it made me nervous
Absolutely beautiful work. I love that you kept the little off cut from the axe head to show the before and after. Amazing to see how you can bring an old piece of rusty steel back to life!
Oh man I want that! I think every firefighter that watches this wants it. Totally badass brother!👍🇺🇸
Love watching the crazy bandsaw witchcraft with the handle you make look effortless every time.
Oh come on!! Now I need to make a giant fireman axe 🙄
You mean you don't already have one?
DARE you hahahaha
ha ha...yep!
Jackman Works
Was thinking the same thing 👍🏻😁. 🇺🇸😎
Paul, how about letting pat do a mini-axe?
Have never seen a more skilled band saw operator! Fantastic axe!
My band in college was called Franken Axe. We toured extensively but broke up when I had the premonition that you'd make this tool and name it "Franken Axe". Great build, Jimmy! Use can also use it against the trolls...
You are a craftsman and it’s a pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you for making them.
Classic Diresta. 🤣. Love the way this axe turned out. Great job!
ManCraftingTM classic Chad, brown nosing lol 😂
jp woodwork classic Jamie Page. Busting chops. 👊🏼
hahahahah
Between you and TOT I have an abundance of motivation for my own projects. Keep up the interesting and quality videos!
Those mini hands are getting creepier. Haha
I agree. Next he puts them on his webshop and they become a success, that would be really creepy
@@2adamast I mean, they glide into the shot, almost look perverted the way they grab the item. I love it! it's hilarious, but creepy
Paul Meyette couldn’t agree more!
@@phil.pinsky Agree to agree?
@@PaulMeyette complete perv style!
I love watching you sculpt with the bandsaw. Almost hypnotic. Cheers Jimmy.

David Harris wow man tell us how you really feel! Haha
I used to be a huge wranglerstar fan before he sold out and started making clickbait. Damn shame.
David Harris expresses those feelings hahah
every thing strangler dose is hi art don you know, lmao

From two rusty old tools to that is amazing 👍 no bee outtakes 😂
Your tool collection is impressive, your ability to use them is even more impressive.
That buffer!!! Hey Jimmy, great video, as always.
One of only a few buffers that make the lights dim ... in his neighborhood.
What an artist! I will say, I was on edge every time you slowed the speed of the shot down. I thought we were about to see an accident or a tool explode! Great job on this restoration!!
Beautiful finish on the axe head from that buffing wheel!
Those silly little hands make me smile every time! Thanks for another kool video Jimmy!
Bro you play the bandsaw like a fiddle!! Great idea and video. 👍👍
It's been a long time since I've used a band saw.....but I have never used it like you do...sweet, pick up something new each day :)
Nice build, great job, nice collection of tools too.
I hope you have a great day & be safe.
Awesome fireman axe my brother I love it very nice project to later :)
No me canso de ver vuestros magníficos vídeos de restauración de herramientas son geniales.
Saludos desde Medellín
I love your videos, they give me a lot of inspiration to get up and make something but sometimes I forget who I'm watching and I turn my volume up and get ear assaulted everytime.
He saves, he restores, he scores! Nice project, Jimmy.
Cheers, Gary
I’m just here for the Black linseed oil comments.
what is black linseed oil ive only ever heard of boiled linseed
Is that even legal overseas?!?!?!?!
I assumed it was just black paint
Been watching your videos for over a decade now, keep them coming!
Jimmy Diresta, Vampire Hunter...Abraham Lincoln would be proud!
A rusting away piece of junk, to almost anyone else, from a crypt and an old farmstead axe from behind the barn. Now they are become something new and coveted! Truly the work of someone special.
There’s the cemetery! Great mashup brother. Cool idea!!
Love the shirt too man!
A true visionary my friend. Thanks for sharing with us!!!
What do you put into the linseed oil to make it black? Just any old pigment? Say a pigment one might use for epoxy resin?
The pigment has to be oil soluble - I buy pure dry pigment at DeSerres. Goes in everything I have tried to use as a carrier, varnish, both oil and water based, linseed oil, epoxy, Don't be intimidated at the price, a little goes a long way.
@@glennworton2494 thanks for the input.

Jimmy - Make a little chisel or something out of the top piece you cut off. Just a suggestion. Noroc!
Anybody else rewatching Jimmy videos?
Wait, you made something without your name emblazoned on it? You might be slipping. :P
Jokes aside, cool build.
Not the classic DiResta anymore, sigh...
I too wondered where and in what manner the logo would be applied. End of the handle, at least!
He's changed

All hail to the tiny hands!! Great job, Jimmy!! I'm looking forward for the creativity for the remaining part of the pick ax.
Genial, gran trabajo!!😅
ja
Very good job Jimmy ,greating!
Gravedigger Jimmy is at it again
Thanks Jimmy. Each video is an inspiration to get out and do something and get better each time.
Did the roosters take note of your warning??
Get your dirty little mitts off it! Good video, thanks. I really liked the contrast at the end with the old and "new". Cheers, David.
Never pick a fight with a man with an axe to grind. Ya just might find out how hard it is to kick his ash.
I'm always impressed by your bandsaw carving skills
watch out for bees!!
Even more so, Wasps, Hornets, and Jackets!
Wow. What a beautiful finish on that axe. Amazing job
Let's be honest the entire reason for the Frankenaxe is to show off those bandsaw skills on camera, right?
Easily my most favourite Jimmy Diresta video. I envy you to the moon and back.
It reminds me of the fireman axe video
This. Is. Awesome! Wish we were neighbors! Love when you make something happen seemingly out of nothing!
Those chickens were not intimidated at all.........Man....
Wish i had your shop to make whatever came to mind. You always seem to have a never-ending supply of ideas.
Awesome axe...great to show a crime ;-P
I like the work you do, the perfection that you put on things, and the finishes (not to mention)... you inspire many, greetings from Venezuela.
Isn't this technically a Pulaski tool at this point?
A Pulaski has a flat blade on the back, kinda like a hoe. This one is close to a Seagrave pattern fire axe.
Eh, it's kind of six of one, half dozen the other IMO, but you have a point
I think the saw is your hidden super power.
Cool frankenaxe. it's a beautiful thing..
You were doing so well until you hid the wood in black. Only part I didn't like. Impressive build.
That's actually my favorite part of diresta's videos, when he does something I wouldn't have. That's when I'm like, well now I wanna do it so I can do it this other way.
Jimmy! You're now a Resurrection Man. That's a righteous axe!

They little hands are hilarious. Great work as always! Love your videos
Gotta love some good old DiResta restauration, totally awesome build.
Restoration end modernisation ! Very good work 👍👏
Thank you fort this vidéo and this good work. God bless you Kamel
One of the most gratifying things - seeing Jimmy using the same techniques as me. Either I was right - or no more wrong that the godfather of making!
