I think what people say about Kuina's death isn't that falling down stairs is a common euphemism for committing suicide but rather that committing suicide is very taboo in Japanese culture so they will say that the cause of death was something different, but not always specifically falling down stairs

2 years later and it seems that the Saul being alive myth that was supposedly busted has apparently been "unbusted" as people are pointing out that information in Chapter 1066 seems to imply that he is alive on Elbaf no idea if its true, but thought its worth mentioning

Thanks for addressing the Stairs = Suicide Myth!!! A lot of people in the fandom already take for a fact that Kuina killed herself when there's no proof that japanese euphemism even exists. Only recently I've seen people in the One Piece subreddit questioning it and it even seems the myth originated from that very same subreddit. The thing that bothers me is that "Kuina actually killed herself" seems like an edgy theory made by fans who try to make One Piece seem darker in cheap ways. Why would Kuina kill herself in the very same night in which Zoro inspired her to become the best swordsman in the world?!?! It would go against her and Zoro's character! I always saw the Stairs death as a mundane yet unexpected way to die. As in, it's a lesson Zoro had to learn: No matter how strong or skilled you are, you can't avoid death and it can come from the most unexpected places. I think that factor is one of the reasons Zoro is more level headed and collected than the other Strawhats. (Like when the Going Merry died)
The most popular recent myth is that Zoro said/specifically Implied he wanted to learn Foxfire style . It never happened but the community wanted him to cut fire so they just believed he did.
Maybe it was a translation mistake (if it really is not real) cause i remember the first time kinemonn cuts fire, zoro said "you should teach me one day" or something like that. I'll look for the chapter.

Even if the anime didn't want to retcon the first Alabasta Poneglyph, they could easily hand-wave it away saying that Robin had already found it and it contained nothing but history or some other detail that we already know. So not even in the anime they would have to go back. I think that, of all the places to add a poneglyph, the place where Robin spent a significant amount of time was the best place to do so.

I've seen floating around constantly things like "Oda said that if someone accurately figures out the one piece he's gonna change what it is," and "Oda had to redraw the death of merry because he cried on the pages" and other things that aren't directly tied to the story but I still see floating without source

Even if the anime didn't want to retcon the first Alabasta Poneglyph, they could easily hand-wave it away saying that Robin had already found it and it contained nothing but history or some other detail that we already know. So not even in the anime they would have to go back. I think that, of all the places to add a poneglyph, the place where Robin spent a significant amount of time was the best place to do so.
That "Pluton isn't on Alabasta" comment aged like a fine wine.
