Reversing the Spiral of Degradation

  • Every person is headed in a direction spiritually. Those who are bound in habitual sin have walked a path that has led them deeper and deeper into spiritual death and destruction. This downward trend is most vividly depicted in Romans 1, and can be termed, “the spiral of degradation." But praise God, there is hope. Those who have traveled this weary path have a way out. In this message, Nate Danser describes for us the steps that bring us to this desperate state, and the beautiful gift that will lead us up and out of it into real spiritual life.

Thank you so much for this message. I am a woman, and everything that he described that sin has infiltrated in me, was happening inside. I appreciate this message so much. Thank you.

Excellent teaching. May the Lords mercy give us the strength to walk out repentance in these last days of intense evil. Sin is reaching an apex, and the fight is intense for our soul.
Thank you Nate. May the Lord continue to bless PLM and bless you and keep you. 🙏

Congratulations! You might have just delivered the most important message of this year.
Not a christian so didn t get all of it.
But I can see how we can get dragged down and down until all seems hopeless.
    The catalyst for change?

i guess i am confused that if you're not a Christian, why you're watching this? This program where these videos are located is a Christian program and based solely on God and Jesus and the Bible. If this sounded good to you, maybe you should check more into it? They do have a website with a phone number if you want to phone and ask questions. :)

Here's my challenge though. I keep hearing how repentance is the key to a lot of things in the spiritual walk. But I've heard many times in the last few years how God grants repentance to the person. Yet I've heard many other times (including in this video) how it seemingly is a choice that a person makes. If it's up to God then how do we make the choice to do it if it's in His control? And I've tried repenting before as I understood it (i.e., making the choice to turn away from sin and abandon it) Problem is, I always went right back to my sin quickly thereafter because of its temptation. So I'm still confused about repentance and how to do it...or if I even DO do it, of my own volition. I've "owned up" to my sin, as Nate said it, many times; I do not hide anything from God and never have because I know he can see it all anyway. I've asked him for that deliverance that Nate spoke of. Years ago even, Nothing yet.

Repentance is as you say, to turn from it.
God grants us repentance by making it possible to repent of our sin.
The difficult part is walking in that place of repentance, not going back to the sin. Its a hard thing for sure but it's doable.
The Bible says to walk in the Spirit and we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Surely if the Bible tells us to walk in the spirit it must be possible.
If I could I'd give you a simple formula to follow and then you would be set free for good.
But all I can say is keep on being in prayer, reading the bible daily, and getting through those hurdles, never giving up.

God has granted repentance as something that is possible for anyone and everyone. This is why Peter, in the book of Acts says, “God commands ALL men EVERYWHERE to Repent”. If God granted repentance only to specific people, then He wouldn’t need to command it of anyone, nor would it be something we could choose. Humility is a prerequisite for repentance of course, just as we see with the Prodigal Son. First He came to the end of himself and realized He was wrong, before humbling himself and choosing to go back to His Father. God Bless you.
