Overwhelming majority of people’s interest in politics is based on vibes. Also a lot of the people in that building are the corporate dem type that like centrist Democrat politics more. These people are probably salty that much of Bernie’s policies have been incorporated into Kamala’s and the democrat’s norms now

If Democrats want to know why I no longer feel connected to the party, take a look at the crowd during this speech. He's promoting things a strong majority of the American people support, and he himself is often rated one of the most popular politicians in America... but you wouldn't know it from their reaction, would you? The fact is, the powerful he's talking about taking down a peg... many of them are in that audience, and that just makes me sad. The Democratic party has long since lost its way.
I'm so disappointed in the lackluster response he rec'd from these delegates. It seemed that many of them just simply left and those that stayed showed little interest. We came so close to this type of president, and now it seems to me we'll never get that back. Medicare For All isn't even being discussed any longer by Dems. And, or course, nobody want's to talk about $ in politics. Love how he pointed out PAC spending in the primaries. RIP to Bowman and Cory Bush. I hope they get to come back into the fold.
Bernie Sanders is one of the greatest politicians in our country. We need Medicare for all, pay 5% extra taxes and we could quit paying the insurance companies ad they'll have to restructure the type of work that they could do to further the democratic agenda.
So many politicians come up and just speak in platitudes and say nothing of substance. Nothing but emotional appeals. Bernie gets up there and speaks on badly needed policy. He was the president we needed in 2016.
It's really a shame. Bernie might be the most idealistic politician we have who is actually willing to fight for those ideals. We could have had someone who actually fights for what is right and the kind of country we're supposed to have, but instead, weve caved into fear and its guided us through the Trump era of politics. I can only hope that one day we have someone as idealistic as Bernie leading us and showing us the kind of country we're supposed to be, instead of one we settle for, or worse, one led by hate, division, and bigotry.
ALWAYS focused on the issues, plain and simple - Senator Sanders is one of our few public servants in the US Senate! It was my honor to donate to and support him in 2016 AND 2020. Our country would be in a much better place if we’d had eight years of a Sanders POTUS!

love how the anchors have to throw shade at bernie and try to blame him for the 2016 election outcome. So hypocritical and ironic talking about a divided party
I think you missed the point of the anchors? They were saying the divisions and smearing of the Bernie bros in 2016 was bad, now he is fully welcome in a corporate dem event like this (and much of his policy agenda’s are incorporated into Harris’ now)
@@Amaling To me it was a way to make what they were saying sound nicer. Despite what the anchors were saying, he was at the DNC in 2016 doing the same thing, sewing unity. Many of his policies were also absorbed by the Clinton campaign in 2016. IIRC, when he dropped out to endorse her, he mentioned the major coming together of their two campaigns. Them specifically bringing up "bernie bros" instead of just mentioning division among the audience sums it up
You HAVE to love the way Bernie Sanders (Vermont's senator) points out the facts that others want to gloss over or lie about! That, and the fact that he appears to be MUCH better mentally than others his same age or even a few years younger than him! VERY few mistakes in what he's saying, as opposed to Trump, who's about four years younger than Bernie! But, perhaps it's at least partially due to a better diet? Doesn't Trump eat a lot of junk food? 7:56 Bernie telling people that America needs to join the rest of the industrialized world and guarantee healthcare to all people as a human right, not a privilege! Re: Universal healthcare: The corporations (who have many gullible idiots who believe their lies about it) oppose universal healthcare for all citizens because of the mind-blowing extreme profits they make off of people, BUT, America is one of only a few industrialized countries who don't have a universal health plan! Norway has had one since 1912, Japan and New Zealand in 1938, Germany in 1941, Belgium in 1945, the UK in 1948 and so on. Are the majority of lawmakers (except for those few with a conscience, who have good moral values and ethics like Bernie Sanders) being given money by groups representing those who make immense profits from those who don't have healthcare coverage or who charge extreme amounts for a plan and deny coverage of things they urgently need? Transparency International's 2023 Corruption Perceptions Index has America at 69 and America is only 24 in the list of countries that are perceived to have the most honest public sector! Then, there's problems like pharmaceutical companies using anti-competitive evergreening of their prescription medicines, slightly changing their formulas so they can get a new patent to stop anyone from making a less-expensive generic alternative, which has been done (according to the Association for Assessible Medicines) in about 80% of the top 100 drugs! When will those OTHER lawmakers actually do more for the PEOPLE they're SUPPOSED to serve instead of corporations? Didn't they take a vow saying they would? Or did they lie? And, let's not forget that universities who do the research to find new pharmaceuticals are doing it for grants from pharmaceutical companies, who get the rights to whatever they develop! You want to know who's actually in charge of countries like America? I'll give you a hint; It's NOT the people! So much for "for the people, of the people and by the people," eh? The United States of America seems to be a corporatocracy (government controlled by the corporations, with some of them donating to BOTH candidates to hedge their bets and to make whoever wins feel obligated to them) or oligarchy (government controlled by the wealthiest, doing it for the same reasons corporations do, although you can Web search both of those, if you want, and use DuckDuckGo and StartPage if you want Google alternatives that also work in the TOR Web browser even with JavaScript disabled) instead of a democracy. THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE! Bernie also wants America's workers to be paid a living wage! Too many people are working two or three jobs just to pay the basics like rent, utilities and providing food for their family, while decades ago, people could do the same working just one job. But, rent, the cost of utilities, food and even automotive fuel (called gasoline or petro, depending on where you live) keep going up and the minimum wage hasn't kept pace! The federal poverty guidelines state that any two-person household that makes less than $16,910 (this figure hasn't been recalculated since 1969 and only adjusted to match the rising cost of food but nothing else!) is living in poverty. Which is everyone in America working 40 hours a week or less! (160x7.5 = $1,200 and that x 12 = $14,400). "Get big money OUT of our political process!" - Bernie Sanders. Want to see what he's talking about? Do a Web search for things like "who owns congress donations" (sans quotes) for more information on that, although some, like the MotherJones page, were from 2010. 9:01 Bernie saying we need to take on big pharma and cut prescription costs by half. BUT, many prescriptions cost far more than half in America than they do even in America's neighbour to the north, Canada! So, those costs need to come down even further, until they're AT LEAST as low as what the prescriptions cost in Canada! Which would also mean that some people wouldn't be arrested for going to Canada and buying their prescriptions there and trying to return to the United States with them! Laws that protect the corporations' profits because they're anticompetitive should be abolished! They're not laws for the people, they're laws for corporations and are HARMING the people! 10:00 Bernie telling people that the true radical agenda is Trump's Project2025! Saying it'll give more tax breaks to billionaires, cutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, letting polluters destroy our planet. 12:19 Bernie tells everyone that corporate greed is denying progress for working people! Trump's claiming he'll make changes to help people, but, you have to wonder, if he FAILED❎❌🙅♂👎 to do it before, why would we trust him to do it NOW if he's re-elected? 🤔 His REAL interest is only in himself and money! 🤑💵💰 Tim Walz has Trump's 'number'! We still need him.
Whelp, he doesn't seem too concerned about past bills owed to small town America. As of 09.2024 ole 'Bern' STILL owes our small town over $33k from a 2016 campaign 'stopover' and we are definitely feeling BURNED.

Thank you Bernie for being on of the ONLY speakers to emphasize the needs of seniors, and the importance of increasing Social Security benefits as well as Medicare coverage. Seniors are increasingly in poverty on fixed incomes hanging on through the elongated inflation nightmare. Give seniors a break and please alert Joe and Kamala that seniors need help fast on these issue. Re-start Home Help in every state by funding it again as it is closed in many states. That would be a great start in helping seniors and others during this housing crisis. Thank you for you progressive comitment to the senior constituency in America.

This man should have won the 2016 nomination. He was robbed by democrat collusion. He's quite literally the greatest president we never had. Imagine how different the world would be right now. He would be on his way out if he was in for 2 terms. Such a waste of such an amazing human being that cares for all Americans and not just those that follow his ideals.

This crowd is pathetic smh, where is the energy? He's speaking directly to working class issues.
I don't think the sort of people who go to these are working class. And as far as I can tell the party does not give much more than lip service to these ideals
Dems are corporatists now. They don't care about the working class anymore.
Overwhelming majority of people’s interest in politics is based on vibes. Also a lot of the people in that building are the corporate dem type that like centrist Democrat politics more.
I honestly think Kamala chose Tim Walz because of this.Look at what he did in Minnesota he has the same values as Bernie
I don’t comprehend how 95% of Americans can not be behind Bernie. He’s been consistent for decades. And his message has always made sense.
Always made *the most* sense
This man is my President. He's dedicated his entire adult life to true public service. I just love him.
ABC's introduction to Bernie - Ahh, shame on ABC!
Crowd was so unenthusiastic
He deserves far more appreciation than he gets from dems in general

Bernie Sanders is one of the greatest politicians in our country.
We need Medicare for all, pay 5% extra taxes and we could quit
paying the insurance companies ad they'll have to restructure the
type of work that they could do to further the democratic agenda.
@cymbolichuman433 He's actually *the* greatest :)
Bernie truly cares for America.
ALWAYS focused on the issues, plain and simple - Senator Sanders is one of our few public servants in the US Senate! It was my honor to donate to and support him in 2016 AND 2020. Our country would be in a much better place if we’d had eight years of a Sanders POTUS!

Lots of folks find Bernie sounds like a broken record. But what he says is spot on to this day.
Spending other people's money is popular. Who'da thunk? At least until you run out of it, which is kind of why it never has worked and never will work.
If people would actually heed the record and implement it, he wouldn't have to keep repeating it. ;)
He only sounds like a broken record because he speaks honestly about problems that other politicians refuse to fix
Well reality hasn’t changed in 50 years so he is keeping up with that.

love how the anchors have to throw shade at bernie and try to blame him for the 2016 election outcome.
Them specifically bringing up "bernie bros" instead of just mentioning division among the audience sums it up
Thank you Bernie 💙 ❤ 🌎
Go to my TH-cam channel (therealcyberwolfman) to see a very short video of Tim Walz saying that Trump is servicing himself again and again and again! Which kind of sounds like he's . . . doing something else! 🤣 But, I won't get all Beavis and Butt-Head about it. Okay, maybe I did a little in that short video I made. 😉
