I'm a conductor myself, and if this opportunity ever came up in a place I happen to be at, I would 100% go up and conduct. It would be tremendous fun, especially with how much passion I have for the talent.
This is so deliciously brilliant and just another reminder how many beautiful people there our in my city doing wonderful things, thank you a tonne and then some for all your contributions MSO!!
As someone who worked closely on this project, you'll be relieved to know that this event was actually in production long before the Improv version was released. And we would have released it before Improv's it weren't for the fixed date for the new season launch, the time to co-ordinate 40+ musicians, and the search for a suitable outdoor venue that could shield the people and the instruments from the wettest month in Melbourne! Either way, we hope you enjoyed this video as much as the people who got to conduct their MSO!
TheHamofMam It's not "the Improv version". The Improv Everywhere video, which was released more than a month before this video, a video that has 1.7 million views compared to the less than 10 thousand this one has, you are saying that this video's almost mirroring of "Conduct Us" is completely by coincidence?
Improv Truth Absolutely. And if you took a sincere interest in the amazing work the MSO does for the people of Melbourne, you may quickly discover that allowing children to conduct the orchestra (albeit, on a smaller scale) is something they have done regularly for many years prior. Convergence on the same idea is nothing new. We had to accept that when we discovered someone beat us to the punch when producing this amazing idea. All the best.

They have to do this again.
Fabulous
They NEED to
I conducted the MSO when I was 4... haha, good memory.

Amazing! What a wonderful way to show the people of Melbourne how phenomenal their orchestra is.
Great! This great add reminds me of the wonderful days in Melbourne and the great people I met there.
Bonjour à tout le monde!
Lorraine
This made me smile. A LOT!!!
That was FANTASTIC!!!!! Such a lovely buzz rippling throughout ... thank you MSO!!!
Makes me so proud to be a Melbournian!
I ABOSOLUTELY love it . I want to have a experience like this so BAD !!!!
If only real concerts were as visual as this one and bravo to the PinkConductor who made the musicians dance!
This was a sweet video. The rabbit sticker at 0:45 primed me for how adorable it was going to be.
Very well done, all! Wish I'd been there.
imagine suddenly a real conductor went up
I think one or two of these people might be actual conductors. CERTAINLY the guy @ 1:38 is.
HE looks like he knows what he's doing.
the guy that got given the flowers is Benjamin Northey, the associate conductor of the MSO.
I believe a few members of an amateur conductors society also made their way up on the podium...
@@bufordpusser424 hes quite possibly a professional plant, i'd pay just to see him just pretending to conduct to be honest
I think I could of pulled off Ludwigs 7th, but i'll never know. How ever I do know is what a brilliant idea it was to present Beethoven at the station
If I were there I go run there and conduct mso orchestra
Do this again...
bravi all!!!
WOW, I wish I was there. There are some drawbacks to living up the bush
Great marketing. Wish we saw more of you out on the streets - what better way to pick up some new audience members
The man in the blue jumper with pink shirt was as if he had a wand and was doing Harry Potter

Improv Truth they were uploaded exactly a month apart, that's not easy. ( to learn a piece, negotiate time, and find materials. )
Get a life loser. So what if it were or was not a carbon copy, music is to be enjoyed by all regardless if it's a copy or not. What a dill.
Does this just demonstrate how unnecessary a conductor is? Anyone can conduct and it sounds pretty good.
