gosh i remember this. hailee you got me through such tough times in life! i listened to song on repeat during my worst breakup in april 2020. we had been dating since the year prior so after putting in all that effort, hoping i'd enter with a healthy relationship for the start of the new decade. ended up taking in so much toxicity, i initiated the breakup in the middle of lockdown. i was being manipulated, emotionally abused, and worst of all ended up discovering MYSELF that i was a replacement for a girl he missed so much who went missing. apparently i acted the exact same way as her and my voice was the same. i cried endless nights to sleep while we dated. so when this came randomly on my spotify autoplay during the last few months of our relationship, i started crying because the chorus really hit and made me realize i had to breakup and pick myself up. now it's 2023, and i'm honestly an entirely different person after 3 years and graduating it's crazy to even say 3 years. yet this song is still a treasure i will keep to my heart. and your other songs too. it really built up self improvement and i feel like the best version of myself. i really don't know where i'd be if it weren't for me discovering such a special gem of an artist in this music industry 🥺💖

Does anyone feel like this song literally shows how people can’t help but love the people who clearly don’t deserve it? This track narrates my relationship with my ex so well. I feel her pain so deeply. It doesn't hurt anymore but I can still relate. She loved him with all she had. Arguably, she still loves him deep down. As much as she tries to hate him for all the pain he inflicted on her, she cannot hate someone she felt so deeply for. She just can't seem to rationalise why he would do something like that to her, to someone who gave her heart and soul to her supposed other half. She turned a blind eye despite knowing he was out there being unfaithful. She was blinded by the facade he put up. Everyone is, even he himself is so consumed in his own lies that he believes he's someone he's not. Even when he was hurting her, it felt good for her. Sometimes in love, we get addicted to the pain. It leaves us desperate for the good moments to the point we bear through all the bad moments because when it's good, it's so good. We ignore all the flaws and pitfalls of the relationship because we just want the sweet taste of love. We don't realise, until it's over, that the iota of bliss and happiness isn't worth the plethora of pain we experience. To everyone else feeling the same way now, you'll get through it. There's nothing I can say to make the process easier. Time heals most wounds. If not, you'll just learn to grow from the experience anyway :) I never thought I could move on from my cheating ex and I stayed way longer than I should have, excusing their behaviour just because the highs were high but here I am, completely moved on and genuinely happy even though I'm single. You'll achieve it too. I believe in you.

Which changes your view of them? You can be beautiful if you love yourself and love others. Being independent is asking for help when you need it and caring for yourself, especially mentally. We need to learn not to rely on others for happiness. Thats independency also. We need more self love and confidence.

This track narrates my relationship with my ex so well. I feel her pain so deeply. It doesn't hurt anymore but I can still relate.
She loved him with all she had. Arguably, she still loves him deep down. As much as she tries to hate him for all the pain he inflicted on her, she cannot hate someone she felt so deeply for. She just can't seem to rationalise why he would do something like that to her, to someone who gave her heart and soul to her supposed other half. She turned a blind eye despite knowing he was out there being unfaithful. She was blinded by the facade he put up. Everyone is, even he himself is so consumed in his own lies that he believes he's someone he's not. Even when he was hurting her, it felt good for her. Sometimes in love, we get addicted to the pain. It leaves us desperate for the good moments to the point we bear through all the bad moments because when it's good, it's so good. We ignore all the flaws and pitfalls of the relationship because we just want the sweet taste of love. We don't realise, until it's over, that the iota of bliss and happiness isn't worth the plethora of pain we experience.
To everyone else feeling the same way now, you'll get through it. There's nothing I can say to make the process easier. Time heals most wounds. If not, you'll just learn to grow from the experience anyway :) I never thought I could move on from my cheating ex and I stayed way longer than I should have, excusing their behaviour just because the highs were high but here I am, completely moved on and genuinely happy even though I'm single. You'll achieve it too. I believe in you.
