G'day folks. We grow our Jackfruit trees in a vase like shape/wine glass shape and find that this method of Jackfruit tree shaping allows for best management, fruit set and harvest.
It is important to manipulate the trees when they are young and in this video we explain how we do it and the tools we use.

They will begin flowering after 18 months, but we limit them to just one fruit in that first year so it doesn't put too much stress on the tree.

Ours was selected following a large trial we did after planting numerous seedling trees. I believe Florida nursery's have some good selections.

Because we keep our trees to no more than four metres in height, we plant our trees 4.5 metres apart, and the distance between rows is 4.5 metres.
If you are happy to have your trees grow taller, then the spacing will need to be further apart

Yes, about 3 ft, depending on which three or four branches we leave on, don't want a branch directly above another. We try to prune ours when it's dry weather to allow time for the wound to heal, or you could use a seal.

Thanks for elaborated video. I have doubt on shape of tree you have chosen. Specifically why you have chosen VASE shape? Is not this shape limit the size or canopy, that may be very smallar to its natural size? Can we adopt centrally modified prune technique for jackfruit. Best regards Kumaraswamy
