Mark Lowry wrote this song. He was in The Gaither Vocal Band for decades. He retired recently because he has M.S. now. There is a video on TH-cam of him singing this song recently with the acapella group Voctave. He said he had the idea for this song one morning sitting down to drink his coffee and was thinking,what if he sat down to coffee with Mary, what questions would he ask her.
You might want to check out another version of "Mary, Did You Know?" being sung by the guy who wrote the lyrics, Mark Lowry. He does an acapella version with Voctive that is very impressive.

You should definitely check out another a cappella group called Home Free. Their bass, Tim Foust, is from Texas. Maybe try their "Man of Constant Sorrow" and "Butts Medley" to start off with just to see some of their diversity. A lot of PTX fans are also Home Free fans.

John the beloved. It was difficult for Mary to look upon her Son disfigurement from all that abuse. The song says: "Mary" did you know. There was much she was foretold about this event but was totally unprepared for seeing it in living color. She was faithful to God and he honored her but she is not to be worshiped. Jesus God's Only Begotten Son had to die for her sins too! And she had to receive His Salvation as well. Incredible. Yet her womb housed the Son of God. Yet He had to die for her sins too. She housed the Son of God, yet, she had to ask for forgiveness for her sins as well. Mary did you know... Yes she did. She knew... Thank you for your website.🌹

ALWAYS a capella. Occasionally they mix will mix in a cello.
