Also Hoang did great in this game. It's very indicative of success when you have more alive converted long swordsman than your opponent has on his side.

light cav in early castle seemed like a no brainer to me. like around when MBL got that good clear of 3 monks +some army. that's enough time to get a stable down and switch
Monk balls basically win to everything but light cav, which is a super easy switch. If instead of spamming champs he builds 3 stables and spams light cav he wins.

Hoang such an entertaining player. he's very skilled as well , clowning your way to this elo and stay there consistently he's insane man. could watch his stream for hours picking the same civ and every game is exciting and funny.

It is absolutely incredible how far Hoang has come within the span of a year. He's vastly improved regardless of his nutjob messy games with no eco!

I know that tech switches can take time but surely you have to be thinking about Light Cav as MBL way earlier, not like he doesn't have the food eco if he's already making Longswords. I'm certain the pros know best but when they're getting slapped about by monks I feel like they so rarely make the tech switch. Maybe that's because their eco isn't always set up right but in this case it's not like he's switching into Light Cav from a low eco archer build or something.

Beautiful game. I've been in hard situations and monks have a decent impact in battle outcomes. If you can bring 3-5 to a 30+ soldier army, they will really make a difference.
But pretty much as Hoang in this game, I forget to bring relics to the monasteries ;:C

They can't, they can produce a standard knight-like unit that can't be upgraded with bloodlines or armor and of course they can't be upgraded in the imperial age.

He needed to palisade protect the tower before the tower was built. 2vills would have done it. Pushing him off his gold would have caused it to go into skirm vs longsword

Ive watched a lot of Hoang games lately and he has developed a great deal in mackro managment. He defends, he builds economy and he wins. He is a great player so give him some respect and please stop calling him crazy and treating him like he doesnt know how to play AOE. He does indeed and I think he proved that well enough in this game. Who need farms if you play an all munk game anyway? WP Hoang and a well deserved win! 😎

I love Hoang. All the pro players hate him, they say its a waste of time, don't learn anything from playing him. Yet he still maintains his top tier position and still beats them regularly
