I make broth from every roast chicken we consume. Once i learned how to make it I don't think i could ever throw all that golden goodness away! I have a slightly different method but i get the same result as you and i freeze mine as well. I really like your tutorials by the way you do an excellent job! ps......thanks for the tip on those freezer containers!
Living Traditions Homestead showcased a recipe from your book today, that’s how I found you. Happy to add you to my list of homestead honey’s. Great vid!
I ABSOLUTELY love to use chicken feet!!! So happy to see you use them! I keep them in the freezer too and the puppers loves them too great treat for him !
Your stock looks great! Looks similar to the stocks I make at work. Quick tip on herbs and veggies. Put the mirepoix in at the last hour of cooking. Put the herbs in the last 15-20 minutes and just let them steep in the warm stock. Kinda similarly to how you make tea. That will preserve the herbaceous flavors far better than putting them in at the beginning and cooking them for 2+ hours
I couldn’t get chicken feet anywhere 😭 I’m using necks instead I hope it comes out as gelatinous! I’ve made the first part and it’s delicious thankyou for the recipe 🩷
Could I convert my frozen chicken broth into chicken stock for canning , I save all my broth from boiling 10 pound bags for my dog food . May sound expensive way to feed them but at 5 to 6 dollars for 10 lbs of leg and thighs this is the healthier and less expensive way for us to feed them. Thank you 😊
Randomly ya poped up, glad i watched (although I dont like liver and I assume heart is same) because I appreciate detail which I gather ya learnt from experience so we can avoid likley inconveniences. TYSM ❤. If only the world system followed your detail technique, minimal errors 😉
Order Chinese food, get wanton soup, and save all containers every time you do LOL! That’s seriously how I get all my deli containers. We just save all of the take out containers
👋🏽 hello, a couple questions, how to you store this? Do you freeze this? Any idea how long it lasts when properly stored away? Also how do you store the chicken fat you took out at the end to be able to cook with it? :) thank you in advance
Yes, this gets frozen and will keep for at least a year probably more like 2 if frozen well/properly. The chicken fat I just keep in a container in the fridge and use within about 5 days.
I never boil a fresh chicken. I’d rather roast it and save the bones. Also, ginormous stock pot is super efficient when you have collected six carcasses.
Have you ever tried to cook the bones until they are soft and run bones and some broth together in a blender? You would probably get even more nutrition.
HEB sells chicken feet, backs, and necks. The perfect combo for bone broth and CHEAP!!!! Frankly, bone broth without at least 1 of these 3 Gems, just isn't chicken broth worth eating
This deserves WAY more views and attention! Everyone should make chicken broth this way!
Thanks! 🥰🥰

I can almost taste this - I bet it’s incredible as a sipping broth! Will definitely be using this method.
I'll be trying your method next time I make broth - looks like a winner.
If it don't look this this, I don't want it ❤ Great recipe!!
I was thinking about can the broth since I don’t have much freezer space. Any suggestions? I learned what to do with the fat! Thanks! ❤❤❤
It’s beautiful broth. ❤I made some with cow tendons and cow bones and it has the satisfying jiggle too😅.
I LOVE THIS! Thank you so much!
This looks delicious, I’m going to make some soon

Great video! Loved the explanation of broth vs stock!
Hi there! Out of interest, what size is your instant pot? 5.7L or 8L?

Love this! About how many chicken feet do you use at a time?
4-6
Love the video. can I use chicken necks?
Definitely!!
Can I do with with turkey bones? I have mine saved from thanksgiving.
Yep works the same way for all bones.
Would you recommend drinking this recipe or just use for cooking?
It’s a great broth for drinking! I usually add a pinch of dried poultry herbs and salt for drinking.
Fabulous!
Where did you get the quart containers. Broth looks wonderful
They are linked in the video description

Fantastic video! Once frozen, how long can it keep in the freezer?
Thanks! I try to use it within 1 year but it lasts for 2 if packaged correctly.
Thank you on that VINEGAR myth.

Hi! how long would you recommend cooking each broth if done in a stove top stock pot?
That info is in the video description

Have you ever tried to cook the bones until they are soft and run bones and some broth together in a blender? You would probably get even more nutrition.
The bones will be soft and crumbly after the second cooking in the instant pot.
@@wholefedhomestead I’m talking about making the bones so fine that you can consume the bones with the broth.
@@normameyers4904no thanks
Can you make it gelatinous without the chicken feet or backs?
Yes 🙌🏻 use chicken wings.
Do you cover it overnight in the fridge ?
No I don’t but you can
can you do this without chicken feet?
Yes but it won’t be as gelatinous.
@@wholefedhomestead that wont have impact on the health benefits will it?
