Just goes to show that you don't need all the fancy equipment to make aquaponics work... as long as the basics rules are applied, any application can work... nice work!!! We converted an in ground pool into an aquaponics greenhouse.. and having alot of good results!!

So glad to see you starting in aquaponics! One tip - with the water flowing from the filter, put a piece of 3" or 4" plastic pipe into the stones to stop the water splashing onto the stones. The very top of the aquaponics bed is best if it is dry, otherwise you'll have problems with algae and moss growing on the stones, stealing nutrients and clogging the growing medium. Really enjoy your videos!

Very nice! Aquaponics are becoming very popular up here where I am! You can even purchase small aquarium with a lid built to hold soil and plants! Many people are using aquaponic systems on regular aquariums to help filter the water and to lower nitrates and phosphates! I absolutely love that you reuse and re-purpose items you have around your property instead of throwing it in the garbage! Your videos show the world that there is no need for expensive and high tech set ups or devices to accomplish this! Anyone can get started just using what is around them! This gives hope to the world, if you want to achieve something, just look around and start building!

Good luck on the vegetables. If farmers go this route, they can save money on water & fertilizers. They can grow fish like tilapia, catfish to eat too. Usually growing fish in aquaponics isn't enough to sell but enough to eat for the family.

we made an aquaponics system ..actually it is our group project in school and we used grava serve as the grow bed for plants we really washed the grava throughly so that there will be no soil on it because based on our deep research aquaponic system should be soiless .. based on your vlog I've seen that there's a litte amount of soil on it . ✌

Hello Dexter. You should have got those rocks graded and washed before putting them in the bed. They are too different in size, a coarse gravelled would be much better. And do shade those transplants for a day or two to recover from the ordeal of being uprooted in the way they were.

    • @raveloriagmailcom

Yes,,, I agree with you... anyway,, Dexter was just trying his best to see if those plants will survive. However, you are right,, rinse first the medium before putting them into the box... and remove the sand... hehehe but all in all,, it's a good presentation..
