When i was a kid I loved this movie so much, i don't even remember how many times i watched it, And now it is my first time watching this movie in a media other than VHS .
Jackie Chan fight is more entertaining than present Cgi fight.Because it provides motivation to become more Fit and fast where on the other side you already know you can't do all that because even characters are not performing all that. I miss this kind of fight style which give you thrill and Comedy same time. This makes Jackie Chan unique and legend.
that first fight scnee ever since I was a kid, i always cringe by how much power you feel from the punches and the precise editing that made this fight scene so powerful!
Man, Jackie Chan was over 40 years old when he broke into Hollywood and he still busted his ass like crazy for years in action scenes. A different breed.
This is the Jackie Chan movie I grew up with and there is no moment more memorable than the hovercraft scene with Jackie being dragged along. Too bad that scene wasn't included here, but...
My favorite scenes are when they fight through the store, destroy it, the cans are restacked and then they demolish them a second time. This is my favorite Jackie Chan movie where the physical actions speaks for itself. He was a great student of the early silents and you can see some echo of the death-defying stunts Harold Lloyd did with no doubles at all.
I love Happy Jackie, no one does comedy and light hearted but great scenes like him. But I must admit, I would love to see more serious Jackie again, like this one.
I want to see a crossover of "Rumble in the Bronx" and "Game of Thrones" were Jackie is teleported to Westeros and beats the shit out of everyone. All the while yelling: "You're all garbage!"
Jackie thinks fast while fighting. He doesn't want his opponents to get a chance on landing a hit, while the others always seem to pause for a moment after swinging their fists.
The asian girl with the glasses who was holding the open bottles at the beginning, she also played Jackie's character's mother in Drunken Master II right? What's her name? I find her hilarious :)
+AznPr1des It is, Blame the US editors, they were not up to part with editing as good as they do in Hong Kong, I actually just re-edited the US version myself and added in the missing sound effects, my god they missed quite a few, for one when Jackie is fighting the 2 guys by the fridge before he throws the one hippie guy into the fridge and kicks the other guy ine chest, we see Chan CLEARLY punch the hippie guy but in the US version there is no punch sound its just silent, so I added in all that shit to fix it up, when you add sound effects for each punch and hit the scene actually becomes clearer and easier to register in your mind, if they didn't miss so much these scenes would indeed have been better in our memory If you need more proof that the US editors were just lazy just watch the part when Jackie empties the theifs bag in the market fight scene when all the candy bars fall out onto the ground you can hear a small noise that stuff hit the ground but it ends way to quickly and its just silent yet we still see more candy hitting the ground, also right before Jackie picks up the ski to fight the bad guys with he falls into a pile of junk, look at the BIG cd players and random electronics that are falling on each other behind him, you hear NOTHING. Whey they push the pinball machine and Jackie ducks down underneth it the huge sound for the pinball machine slaming into the wall is clearly a second before the machine even hits the wall. My theory is that since they did a few cuts and trims here and there it threw off there audio track while editing and instead of re-tweaking it they just said fuck it
Universal Kombat Yea I get it. The increase in the price of candy bars is ultimately caused by an increase in money supply and that's what the joke was about.
Sad to discover a few in this film are already gone. The shop clerk played by Anita Mui; the guy playing Tony died tragically during a Crow film; his 2nd in command the Cantonese guy is also gone.
How ironic and sad that Jackie, when they filmed this was older than almost everybody in the cast of this movie, yet he outlived some of them. Not to mention his profession .
Yes agreed. It's amazing how he has survived so long considering how many brushes with death Jack has faced, For this reason, he deserves to be considered one of the biggest legends of cinema history.
Jackie Chan is simply great!!! He is an allround talent!! I think the jump scene is one of his greatest stunt ever!!! one of the few movie of Jackie where he has used the wing chun style!!!! great movie
Bruno's Geek Reviews Dude, the movie was well made and realistic.. now here's my question to you . " Do gangsters keep fighting the police and killing people everyday, every minute, every second ?
