Edmonton Valley Zoo and the council in that town should be charged with abuse for the neglect of Lucy’s psychological and physical needs. PETA and others like LEAP have been working on getting her moved to sanctuary for years and denied. That is neglect and they should be charged.
Love to Lucy and appreciation to all who are wanting the best for Lucy the elephant 🐘 💚

Omg, we have to win this fight against this evil zoo. One person gets hurt the animal will pay. 😢

I wish these people understood truly that she is not a commodity to be treated as such, a novelty, an exotic commodity to be photographed and made money off of, but a thinking, intelligent creature who is due the life she was designed for, to be lived with her own kind in a natural environment. It seems like people don't consider quality of life issues or how she feels about these things. Anyone that knows elephants can see the suppressed light in her eyes, her spirit dimmed, as she lives from one subjugated day to the next, minus the joy to which she's entitled. She can't even be her whole self as she has to live within her unnatural placement. Their respect for her can only function when they see the truth, that she is not a commodity. She has her own mind, she's not an object: she has her own Will, her own desires, her own needs, she is not merely a biological wonder. These realities need to be respected. We can see a person's intelligence-maturity, or lack thereof, by their understanding and respect, or lack thereof, of these truths.

It's so sad to see how they transformed a Beautiful ,Wild and Majestic being on a sad ghost only for humanoids ( not humans) to enjoy ...Very very sick people who appreciate, and even encourage their kids to happily watch the daily steps of an animal, showing It's broken nature and carrying around It's broken heart

Poor Lucy. I hate this hell hole and I pray she gets to a sanctuary before it’s too late. Don’t people understand she’s a wild animal. What if she decided she had enough and took those people and children out. How devastating would that be? EDV free Lucy already. #FreeLucy

You can tell that the people visiting there only care for the "oooh look at me" selfie/photo opportunity situation and not for the amazing elephant or the danger they are placing themselves in. If something were to happen to one of them, say Lucy struck out, they would be baying for her blood though. I thought zoos existed for education and/or conservation purposes. Not this lot, I just wonder how much money they are raking in by having these "up close and personal" events and if this is why they won't let her be with her own kind like she deserves.

How can people smile and laugh while they use a depressed, broken elephant as a prop for a selfie?
    Let Lucy go.
