    Stock 230 tail really seems to work hard with 300x upgrade is the tail performance just that much better because of the brain and microheli tail rotor?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      Yes it is! Mainly just the Brain 2 FBL but the MicroHeli Carbon tail blade helps alot too.

    What difference does the tri blade make in flight, would it eliminate 3d capabilities?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Three bladed heads give you more lift as you have an extra blade. It does not eliminate 3-D capabilities whatsoever. Go check out my M2 3 blade video. The next video that I post on this helicopter I definitely push it harder but the third flight I push it a lot harder! It is a beast! Getting it perfectly tune to my liking. First flight servos were very slow I had it under geared so I didn’t have a lot of power and didn’t want to wreck it on the maiden.

    My 230s v1 leans back bybitself when the battery is low, is the problems on the battery? Should I replace the reciver?
    It has the swashplate problem when spooling up
    Good video!

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! So the 230 V one has always had that problem. Especially when taking off! You don’t have to replace the FPL, get yourself a programming cable and reload 230 file from spectrum into it and it works perfectly. I have to do it to my grandfather is 230 V one quite often especially after a crash.

    Hi, love the Blade/Microheli build
    Would you mind sharing your thoughts comparing the upgraded 230s with the Goosky and OMP 200 series?
    I know the consensus is the OMP and Goosky are a bit higher end out of the box stock. Would you say the upgraded 230s is on par?
    I would really value your opinion.
    Regards,
    Chris

      Hello! Thank you, it’s a great build and heli now. But! As much as the MicroHeli kit is amazing and it’s a great heli now it’s a expensive build if you copy mine. You can buy two and a half Goosky S2 or M2 helis and have a heli that flys better, had more power, crashes better, parts bare cheaper and the list goes on. So if I was you I would highly recommend buying a S2 and have a fantastic heli out of the box!

    • @chrismurdock803
      @chrismurdock803 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much.
      I was heading towards a Goosky S2 and ended up getting a 230s for Christmas from my son, It is my first heli. My plan at this point is to solidify my skills on the 230S and possibly jump to the Goosky R4 when ready. Do you think that is a realistc jump?
      As an aside, I have a couple hundred hours on AccuRC and fairly comfortable in all orientations. I did take your advice on a previous video with Nick on making it a priority.
      In the interim, Do you sre ANY benifit to ANY upgrade(s) to the 230S while learning or would it be all a waste of money?
      i.e. cf frame/tail boom. etc
      Thanks a million for your thoughts!
      Regards,
      Chris

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chrismurdock803 you’re welcome! The 230s is a great beginner heli, nothing wrong with it at all. Personally no, there is going to be no benefit from upgrading anything on the 230 for learning. Keep it all plastic for crashing. The MicroHeli Carbon main frame is the best upgrade because the stock plastic main frame breaks so easily so if you’re crashing and breaking main frames a lot then the MicroHeli Carbon frame is nice and strong.
      The RS4 is a great jump to from the blade 230s. It’s very doable. The RS4 is a great heli and will do anything you want! Take your time and you will learn and progress!

    Hi, I'm starting a new build from scratch with the same setup you have on yours, brain swap and all, have you posted the setup files? I really like your setup. I've been wanting a 230s for a while but I didn't like the stock model so I've diced to build one custom for myself, even though I'm new to helicopter RC, I wanted to get into it like you. Thanks.

    tail motor stays on so when you shut the main motor off the heli doesn't spin around. My omp m1 does the spin thing sometimes because the tail shuts off immediately when I hit hold .

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No that’s not it, because other iKON set ups with motor driven tail does not do that. I could see it if it only did it with throttle hold after you shut the motor off but I don’t see it because of that. Stock 636 didn’t do that either.

It's got a blade V2 ESC and fbl soon to go ikon. I know the micro and mini ikons have tail motor support, maybe this will solve the tail motor issue. 230s/300x/300cfx/Oxy2/Oxy3 all use 4mm mainshafts. My 230s ise currently using a Oxy3 swashplate and head assembly.

      @@BubbaB43 the tail casing was the problem. We used a Trex 250 tail casing and slider then made our own TT and gearing and boom block. It worked great! (That helis is still around!) we molded and made a lot of them but the tail casing was getting hard to get at the time (next to impossible now lol) so the idea and project went to the side. What up bro?...i know you have already answered this question but i need a good charger that will charge at least two batteries from 2s to 6s or whatever...it would be nice if it could charge spectrum g2 and any other smart batteries and any other batteries with the proper connector but i cant find one that does...basically i need a good charger that will charge regular "smart" and any other batterie from 2s to 6s or higher i guess...i had bought two g2 batteries for my fusion 360 but when they got here i realized that i needed a g2 charger for them so they have been sitting for 5 months...i know that i can get the little cheap g2 charger for only g2 batteries but i was wondering if there was like a "one stop shop" for a charger...anyways...if you could recommend me a charger then i would appreciate it :)....(MY EDIT)...the charger can be more than two ports...two is just my minimum.

      What’s up buddy, so the Spektrum S2100 or S2200 is a great charger. The 2100 is a two port 100w each and the S2200 is a two port 200w each charger. If you want to charge smart battery’s G1 or G2 or any other battery I would recommend either one of those. Of course they will charge other batteries as well. So it’s kind of a one-stop charger. Unfortunately any of the chargers that are more than two ports are kind of worthless. For example I have a hi tech X4. 4 port charger, issue is it’s only 50w a port! So 5 amps max and takes for ever to charge a 6s 5000mAh pack like hours! I’m amazed at how fast and perfect the smart charges are!
