I grew up in Vegas from 1977 to 1988. I went back to visit Las Vegas in 1997. I noticed a large group of people standing by Caesars Palace with white candles. I took a candle; as I lit it, I noticed a picture of Tupac a few days before he was killed. The memorial happened on the one year anniversary of his passing. I looked at people around me and told them (& pointed at) the former Hilton Hotel/International Hotel and said a teddy bear with a candle was sitting in front of the marquee. But standing there remembering Tupac with other people was peaceful.

Fun fact: Michael Jackson's superbowl halftime in 1993 broke record for being the only halftime show to have more live audience viewers than the superbowl itself. He was the only act on stage. He was the only act in history where NFL offered to pay the artist, but it went to his charity at the time 'Heal LA' which helped struggling youth in Los Angeles. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
Not completely true. Katy Perry's halftime show (118.5 million viewers) had more viewers than the game itself (114.4 million viewers) and she remains the most watched halftime act in the history of the Super Bowl. Another fun fact is Katy Perry is the only artist (other than Michael Jackson himself) to have 5 #1 Hot 100 songs from one album.
