30:30 the store behind them here is named after Rob Liefield, he created Deadpool along with most of the characters in Deadpool 2. The name "Just Feet" was because he was notorious for not being able to draw feet.
All the Wolverine Variants: Short King Wolverine - Standing at 5'3", Wolverine (Earth-616) first appeared in The Incredible Hulk #180-181 (1974). Despite his short stature, he’s portrayed as a fierce Canadian mutant with an unyielding spirit. Wolverine officially joined the X-Men in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975). While canonically 5'3", he’s often drawn closer to 5'5" in the comics, though his short, stocky build remains one of his defining traits. Age of Apocalypse (Weapon X) - In this alternate timeline, Legion (Earth-616) goes back in time and accidentally causes the death of his own father, Charles Xavier, while he’s still in college. This event births a new timeline (Earth-295) where Apocalypse rises to power 10 years earlier, leading to Earth’s domination. Without Xavier, the X-Men never form, and Wolverine becomes Weapon X, sporting black leather, a metal right hand, and longer, wild hair as he navigates a dystopian world. This version of Logan is darker and even more savage due to the grim circumstances of this timeline. This timeline would re-place the mainline X-Men comics for a while until it was fixed, reverting back to the Earth-616 we know and love. Patch - While operating in Madripoor, Wolverine (Earth-616) took on the alias "Patch" to blend into the criminal underworld. Sporting a white tuxedo and an eyepatch, Logan’s new persona first appeared in Wolverine #1 (1988). As Patch, he explored a more noir-style setting, using his wits and raw strength to navigate the dangers of Madripoor, all while concealing his identity. This could've been a whole solo Wolverine film on itself but it's cool we at least got a small cameo. Old Man Logan - First appearing in Wolverine #66 (2008), Old Man Logan exists in an alternate dystopian timeline (Earth-807128) ruled by villains. Haunted by a tragic past in which he was tricked into killing the X-Men, this older, broken version of Wolverine lives in a world where the heroes have fallen, and villains have taken control. Old Man Logan’s arc is a deeply emotional and violent tale, highlighting his vulnerability in his later years. This is the same comic that inspired Logan (2017). 80s Wolverine - John Byrne’s iconic yellow-and-brown costume, which first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #139 (1980), became a staple of Wolverine’s (Earth-616) look throughout the decade. It marked a shift from his earlier yellow-and-blue suit, which debuted during his initial appearance in The Incredible Hulk #181 (1974) and later in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975) when he officially joined the X-Men. Logan would don the yellow-and-brown costume during memorable battles, including his fight against the Hulk in The Incredible Hulk #340 (1988), making it one of his most enduring and beloved outfits. Yellow & Blue - The yellow and blue suit worn by Wolverine in this film is a modernized take on his iconic costume first introduced in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975). This design was later reimagined by Jim Lee in the late '80s and early '90s, X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men '97 used Jim Lee's designs as well. The suit was then updated for the 21st century in the comics with Astonishing X-Men (2004), blending classic elements with modern design. For many fans, the yellow and blue suit remains Wolverine's definitive look, thanks to the lasting impact of the animated series and how it's used across a bunch of media such as arcade games throughout the 1990s.
So much lore! My goodness. I'd be so here for a Hugh Jackman James Bond though. Even if it wasn't a Wolverine cross-over. As obviously a huge fan of the character, do you feel like this movie did Wolverine justice? Like I said, it felt like they threw the audience a lot of fun easter eggs and tidbits to enjoy, even if I didn't know what all of them were while watching in the moment.
There's a video where Reynolds describes meeting with Madonna about Like a Prayer. Once they got her agree to licensing the song (which she doesn't often do), she apparently had some good suggestions about how they could use it to maximum effect in the movie.
Earth 616 is the Disney Marvel Cinematic Universe - the flashback is set on March 14th 2018 before Avengers: Infinity War was released in April 2018 Earth 10005 is the Fox Marvel Universe (Fantastic Four, X-Men, etc.) - the rest of the movie is definitely set after Loki Season 2 which ended in November 2023 and since D&W was released in July 2024 - a wee bit over 6 year later than the flashback
Gambit's power is the ability to charge objects that he touches with kinetic energy, essentially ramping up the speed of the object's molecules until it becomes combustible. So he can turn a cheap deck of playing cards into explosive throwing projectiles.
Matthew Macfadyen's exposition that you missed actually set the scene for how hight the stakes that they were facing were for the final scene so yea....kinda important.
I love your french fry metaphor (or simile? I am never sure). Definitely a fun movie, for sure! Chris Evans was hilarious in this role! I really wish I had seen this in the theaters, as I did get spoiled on a few things, such as Chris' role as Johnny Storm.
I think I knew that he was going to show up, just not as something besides Cap. And I think I heard somewhere about Blade showing up, but I forgot and got to be surprised in the moment.
A lot of these cameos are deep cuts. For example Channing Tatum as Gambit. Channing's wanted to play Gambit for a long time but it never materialized. This movie implies that somewhere in the multiverse he did get to play Gambit. You should watch a breakdown video for this movie.
There's Cajun and then there's real Cajun - where the sub-titles are necessary - trust me there are people who sound just like Channing Tatum's Gambit accent
It is too bad that they had to cut Rob McElhenney's scene from the movie. There are some fun cut scenes from the movie that you can see online. One is B15 (The woman from Loki who now runs the TV in this movie), who is talking with Peter after an obvious fling.
It would be fun to see your reactions to X-men the animated series S1 on yt. If it does well i would love go see you work your way to X-men 97 or just jump right into X-Men 97. There are recap videos if you need. X men 97 is 20/10
I like X-Men: The Animated Series, but it’s very much a product of its time and hasn’t aged all that well when compared to the DC shows of that same era. Naturally, I always recommend people watch X-Men '97 instead, as it’s better in every aspect. It stands on its own while also doing a great job of explaining anything viewers might have missed from the original series.
I did that over on my Patreon! You should be able to watch them for free (let me know if you can't and I'll change the settings). www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-pick-x-6-106751262 Haven't gotten to X-Men 97 yet, but I'm sure I will eventually.
Pretty sure if they showed Tom Holland they'd have to pay him and it might even count as a movie in his contract (So, as Dennis Reynolds would say, the implication . . .)
How do you feel about the way this film uses cameos vs Multiverse of Madness? Do you feel one treats the characters with respect for the fans vs the other? I know as well as many fans didn't like the cameos in multiverse of madness as much as no way home or as much as this film
I'll be straight with you: I don't remember much of anything about MoM. I had to google it just now. Whereas No Way Home, I totally remember a whole bunch. I think it's about not just having the actors/characters show up for a bit or a fight, but actually being part of the plot that makes a difference. This and NWH let them be heroes and mentors. And you know, maybe don't slice them in half with Captain America's shield. I just pretend that I never saw that.
@OldLadyReacts i liked Multiverse of Madness because it was more a horror film but it's nice to understand your pov and so many fans who feel the same way. Multiverse of Madness is a divisive film in the fandom for the reason you said vs no way home and this film which seems universally praised by the fandom.
Do people like watching reaction movies if the reactor has already seen the movie 100 times? Like, I really do know that movie super well. And the 6 hour BBC miniseries.
Nice. I really enjoyed this, though for me, it's light on plot, and much too heavy on gimmicks and cameos. I've always enjoyed Deadpool as a character, but he's really kind of a one trick pony. Sadly, each of the movies relied on that one trick, just getting worse each time. That being said, I was elated to see Johnny Storm and Gambit, and especially Blade. But as far as acting goes, Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox steals the movie.
I'm finding that Matthew Macfadyen steals pretty much everything he's in. I'm glad they let him have fun here. But yeah, the one-trick-pony thing is why I still like the first Deadpool movie the best. His schtick was surprising then. Now it's gotten a little annoying.
Well, this doesn't have the emotion or character of Endgame, but I could see if you don't really like Marvel that you might like this better. I love Marvel so . . . .
Gambit was always portrayed with a deep deeeeeeep cajun accent.
30:30 the store behind them here is named after Rob Liefield, he created Deadpool along with most of the characters in Deadpool 2.
The name "Just Feet" was because he was notorious for not being able to draw feet.
I'm SO GLAD you gave the "Hairy Lou Retton" a good laugh.
All these young'uns out here don't get the reference at all! Subscribed.
Yeah, this is definitely for a Gen X target audience!
Nice genuine reaction by a person who understands the references, refreshing!
Yes, I am thoroughly Gen-X! Definitely the target market for this movie.
This happened after Loki. This movie was a goodbye to the Fox Marvel Universe. That why all the different franchises are in the trash bin.
Yeah, I was looking for clues in all the stuff in the background but I didn't pick up on a lot of it until googling it afterwards.
The Cavillrine, Henry Cavill. He played "The Witcher" and "Superman".
Yes! Love his work. He was also in one of the M:I movies I reacted to recently.

Thanks for the rundown! I didn't know all the details.

Excellent run-down. As a huge comic fan since the mid '80s I knew all these references but the attention to detail you display is outstanding.
The dog playing DogPool won the contest of the Ugliest Dog in UK in 2023.
That tracks!
Cassandra takes Johnnys skin
Deadpool : do you know what he was doing to the budget?
Great line!
There's a video where Reynolds describes meeting with Madonna about Like a Prayer. Once they got her agree to licensing the song (which she doesn't often do), she apparently had some good suggestions about how they could use it to maximum effect in the movie.
Yes! That was the helmet from Adventures in Babysitting! AKA Thor's Helmet from the comics.
Also worn by Silver Age Flash. Likely inspired by Hermes/Apollo/Mercury.
@@CrashWizard not remotely similar, apart from the wings on the side. Jay Garrick's helmet is a completely different shape.
A GREAT Movie to check out is "ALMOST FAMOUS" I know it isnt an action movie it has a great soundtrack and just simply a great movie...
OH, I've seen it many times! Great movie!
Earth 616 is the Disney Marvel Cinematic Universe - the flashback is set on March 14th 2018 before Avengers: Infinity War was released in April 2018

First video I watched after coming home from work.
Thanks for sharing. :-)
Thanks for watching!
Gambit's power is the ability to charge objects that he touches with kinetic energy, essentially ramping up the speed of the object's molecules until it becomes combustible. So he can turn a cheap deck of playing cards into explosive throwing projectiles.
I can see how that would be cool in the right circumstances!
Awesome reaction, 1 of the best
Lady is Ryan wife, baby and kid are their kids.

I'm a Ryan Reynolds fan there was so many different versions of this movie because there were waiting for Hugh Jackman's agreement to do this movie ..
Ryan Reynolds...had to ask permission from Madonna to use her permission to use her songs in this movie
This movie was Hugh's idea.
The creation of man had already been referenced in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 (Starlord and Adam Warlock) so they couldn't do it again.
I've been watching a lot of reactions to D&W, mainly out of curiosity but this one I'm looking forward to with excitement 👍
Aw, thank you!

Yeah, I definitely would enjoy digging deeper.
Violent Night has become one of my favorite Christmas films.
Yes! That's the one I meant. I loved that freakin' movie. I also meant to put a link to my reaction of it but I forgot. Oh well.
Channing Tatum was supposed to play gambit in a film but it went unmade when Disney brought fox
Gambit is always cajun it's just wolverine version that got it wrong, channings dad is cajun and
Was told to make the accent thick for comedic purpose
@@danielhead8123 Well it was definitely comedic!
There's Cajun and then there's real Cajun - where the sub-titles are necessary - trust me there are people who sound just like Channing Tatum's Gambit accent
Yes gambit accent is cajun and it is spot on
I Really Enjoyed Seeing Your Reactions To This Great Movie, Sweetheart ❤

Me too!

I suppose, yeah.
It's the original sabertooth actor from the first xmen
I LOVE HOW THEY TRANLATED CASSANRA NOVA FROM THE COMICS. SHE'S REALLY THAT DISTURBING AND CRUEL.
