    Hi! I've been a swim teacher / coach for about a decade now here in New Zealand.
    For you its all about the kick! Practise kicking from your hips and getting some big fully body movements through the water. Once you have a strong kick behind you its time to incorporate the timing of the kick and arms.

    I don’t know really becauseI am not a coach. I work on butterfly everyday and it’s not too shabby. Keep practicing various kicking drills, pull drills, and eventually put it all together. Just keep working on it I suppose.

    To get things right, I'd suggest to forget all you've learned so far, and start afresh using decent tutorial. For example, check one from Total Immersion, "BetterFly for Every Body" by Terry Laughlin. It then takes a few weeks to swim a few reasonable fly strokes.
