Wu Tang Collection - Thug Immortal: All eyez on Tupac Shakur

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 21 ส.ค. 2024
  • From his early appearances on record with Digital Underground to his popular and influential solo albums, Tupac Shakur was a rap phenomenon, and one of the pioneers of gangsta rap. Though often attacked by the media (and Dan Quayle) for his "thug" lifestyle, Tupac's life and art were filled with complexities that his detractors either did not see or just ignored in order to have a villain or a more sensational story. THUG IMMORTAL is an intimate look at Tupac's life told through never-before-seen footage and interviews with his close friends, revealing an artist who grew up a thug, but one who soon tired of that lifestyle and its trappings, revealing a Tupac far different from the one most of America knows. Synopsis A timely profile of the perilous life and mysterious death of gangsta rapper and nascent actor Shakur, including interviews with showbiz colleagues and exclusive personal footage of the star.

    Watching this in 2021, Tupac was literally my LIFE growing up in Columbus Ohio as a poor little white kid. Shit I did my 4th grade "Who is your hero?" project on Tupac and what he meant to me. His messages resonated with me all through my life from 9 years old till today. He is the absolute best rapper/poet/entertainer in my opinion. My "theme song" growing up as a "wanna be gangsta" was Shorty Wanna Be A Thug. He gave me the courage and respect I craved as a young wayward teen. Ill never ever forget what Pac did for me, and he's ALWAYS In my heart. His music made me. Period

    This is a real gem. Gives us a real look at Tupac during his Marin city age. He seemed like a joke in Marin, getting beat up, teased about his appearance and his mother’s crack addiction. Seemed to fuel his spirit to rise above his situation. He always believed in who he was.
    They definitely should’ve put more of the Marin city incident in the all Eyez on me movie. No hometown ever accepts a prophet. Not to compare Tupac to Jesus but the Marin city incident made me think of when the town of nazereth tried stoning Jesus .

    People will say these guys are haters, but this just feels honest - you just gotta take it with a grain of salt and think in terms of the actual outcomes rather than everything surrounding it. He and I think his really kinda confirms Tupac was always kind of the same, maybe the aesthetic and what he said changed, but what and who he was I think was consistent. This would have been from the same period where he gave that interview as a 17 year old. One thing: he was a hothead that got himself into trouble and actually loved fighting and was "the first to bomb" on guys he had beef with. This is confirming what people always speculate about, and these are people that are clowning him, too: he was never afraid of fights, could get very violent and was still reckless around police. It lines up with what Money B, Busta Rhymes and other journalists who knew him at the time said.

    this is well put together. the entire dialogues from different perspectives of close individuals of pac gives a wider and deeper picture of Pacs life, his transformation and how society evolved him into the person he has become in his last few days. and this is pure GOLD. there are many notable dialogues, and a lot to learn, imo the best one is in the last few minutes. "there was no middle ground with pac, with him it was age with out maturity, knowledge without wisdom, order turning into chaos". nicely put. but in my perspective pac got murdered for many reasons, and he angered many ppl, but if you have christopher wallace in the picture, who was taken in the same fashion, the Question which should be asked, is why did biggie get murdered? what did he do to get murdered? so, you gotta understand that ppl are just jealous. they are jealous they are not biggie, or tupac, and that they can never be them. on another hand, the federale govt of the US had something to fear, just as Cooper said, 'be aware of a rising black messiah'. these were the black messiahs who was talking about. not obama. decorated individuals who planted consciousness into the minds of the ignorant and uneducated, those who are being lied to, and left in the dark about what our govts are really up to . real hip hop, the art of spreading and legitimizing the real picture of the everyday lives of the young black men, women, latinos, asians, immigrants the poor, putting ppl on the know of how fucked up we really are and ugly to each other. and about how we need to change not just now but right now.

    • @hajakabba6325
      @hajakabba6325 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree to everything you said but I believe biggie died because based on what's been said puffy put money on pacs head, and the southsides killed him and they never got paid for it, so for that they got biggie, but then again we could say the government did it especially with pac, tbh idk what to believe cause it could be possible.

    To say 2Pac stayed in the Bishop character and wasn't really like that deep he was only in Marin City for 4 years and before he was in Baltimore for again 4 years. And before that he was in Harlem...and that's the problem with these types of documentaries there is no real clips of Tupac saying his side of the story. Just a bunch haters he partly grew up around but even when he was in Digital Underground prior to Juice. He had the juice because even someone from Digital Underground said how wild Tupac was and let's think about it. If Tupac was robbed and he had nuff machinery so he don't get robbed again. Clearly that was before the movie Juice.

    Marin City was community where people had generations of family members. When he made comments about Marin being drug dealers, pimps and fiends, then claiming Oakland, people took it personally. There was a lot of people in Marin City who saw Tupac as a chance to help them too, but claiming Oakland and critizing Marin City hurt some people's feelings. He still had partners in Marin City though.

      Lmao, exactly. That's how you know they are hating and just saying anything. Correction tho, it sounds like Pac. Bishop had similarities to Pac and that's why Money B said he felt he was great for the role but overall they are 2 different people. What you're saying is true tho. They describing him the same way they described Pac after Bishop and don't even know it
