Actually, both of Joseph's children were born in France. Also, the mother of Joseph Philippe Lemercier Laroche was a descendant of Jean-Jacques Dessalines, who ruled the First Empire of Haiti (1804-1806). Third, the President of Haiti at the time when the RMS Titanic sank was Cicinnatus Leconte. The now late President Leconte was Joseph's blood uncle.

My direct blood relative, is my grand mom's nephew. Joseph La Roche is my 2nd cousin, on my mom's side. La Roche (aka Roche, Roches, Roach) are my DNA family my mom's great grand mom was a La Roche. We are not only Black, we are mixed with, French, Dutch, India (of India) and Jamaica (Latin-Caribbeans). We came from wealth and Royalty.
My family are the de la Roche family was a French noble family named for La Roche-sur-l'Ognon in Burgundy, France that founded the Duchy of Athens 1204 and held it for just over a century.
Our etymology is "of the Rock" in French in reference to the place of origin. And, our place of origin, after Africa is La Roche-sur-l'Ognon. We are the Duchy of Athens, Fourth Crusade. My Great grand father was the Founder, Othon de la Roche of our European cadet branch kingdom. and we also have the
    distinctions of Dukes (European nobility).
Our la Roche family bears for arms: five points gules equipolated to four or.
The Princes of Achaia and the Chronicles of Morea is my direct relative.
I will be back with or African Kingdom branch, our Haitian, Latin/Jamaican, Dutch and French branch details.
    Here is European branch detail:
Kingdom of Burgundy was a name given to various states located in Western Europe during the Middle Ages. The historical Burgundy correlates with the border area of France and Switzerland and includes the major modern cities of Geneva and Lyon.
As a political entity, Burgundy existed in a number of forms with different boundaries, notably, when it was divided into Upper and Lower Burgundy and Provence. Two of the entities, the first around the 6th century and the second around the 11th century, were called the Kingdom of Burgundy. At other times were the Kingdom of Provence, the Duchy of Burgundy and the County of Burgundy.
BLACK AFRICAN DE LA ROCHES ROYAL ROOTS:
MY 81st GREAT GRAND FATHER: My de la Roche DNA family royal bloodline can be traced all the way back to our Black African Roots to HM King Pharoah Sekhemre-Sementawi Djehuti of Egypt of the 17th Dynasty seized control from the Hyksos.
LATIN (SEPHARDIC = (SPANISH) -JEWS/ISRAELI) ROYAL ROOTS
My UNCLE: My de la Roche DNa family royal bloodline can be traced all the way back to Latin Roots to HRH Prince Zerah (Zehrah Zarah Zare) ibn JUDAH twin of Perez (the original of my Dad's Last name derives from his Great Grand dad HRH Prince Perez (Pharez, Pedros, Pedra, Peter(s), de Pitres, Petri, Petrov, Petrovich, Perkins, Petre/Petrie (this surname, my dad's surname hve more than 700 surname variations Petre also means the rock. Just as de la Roche means the rock; eponym of the Royal House of Zerahites. He was Born: 1751 B.C. (Before Christ). Jullus of Rome's 7 Great Grandfather.

Joseph was a young, very well educated family man with a sickly child. According to the creator of this video, he was fleeing oppression due to his race. Who knows what he would have done to enhance the lives of ALL people had he safely arrived to Haiti?? He was lined up to become an educator upon arrival. He definitely would have made a huge impact on the lives of Black people as well as other people of the world. Just my opinion.
