  • I have loads of great resources for you to explore, including hundreds of extra videos, my comprehensive gardening ebook, my gardening app, data on everything I grow and when I grow it and so much more. Everything I do is free to use, but not to create!
For my whole ebook/course go here: steverichards....
For my Amazon store go here: www.amazon.co....
For reference information on what to do each month and what I actually do, go here: steverichards....
For my gardening apps go here: steves.seaside...
For polytunnel and greenhouse growing: steverichards....
For my year round growing guides: steverichards....
For my guides to individual veggies: steverichards....
For my 8 step guide to self sufficiency: steverichards....
For my gardening basics course: steverichards....
    For info on harvesting: steverichards....
For my FAQ document and video: steves.seaside...
My books and videos are all grounded in what I actually do, I make sure you can see the evidence. For example if I suggest sowing carrots in November, take a look at my monthly tours to see them growing and my harvest videos for May to see the actual results. I'm not just about regurgitaing information from the backs of seed packets!
Just because all my resources are 'free of charge', to everyone, doesn't mean they aren't good quality. My objective is to make sure that there's no need to be rich to get access to great gardening information. I do however have a lot of costs to cover and my time is valuable to me, so please consider supporting me at www.buymeacoff...

I am a visual learner. I do however enjoy your monologues but this format is much easier for me. I think it will increase your audience significantly.
I appreciate it is more work and I can only say that you are a total gem finding new ways to pass on your knowledge. What a gentleman! Thanks x

Yes, definitely more work, but although my main interest is tackling the complexity of growing a rich and varied diet all year round, the basics matter too : All the best - Steve

This series will be so useful for people starting out, Steve. Some seasoned gardeners forget what it's like in the early days and assume the watcher will know many of the basics - with this format you explain these things in a natural, easy manner. Looking forward to more 🙂

Honestly it was such a hectic video shoot, we did loads more filming for another project too and I was totally disorganised, only being used to single take/point and shoot videos! This was towards the end when we could relax, knowing we'd pretty much finished : All the best - Steve

Thanks, it's been such a trial for me, next to an airport on one side and a building site on the other and a house renovation next door at home. It makes videos that take a long time to shoot virtually impossible, forntunately the building site is quiet now, so it's just the airport and the strimmers and mowers! : All the best - Steve

Great to see a concise "how to video" which is what some us often need to follow along with. You could build up a library of these that will get hits and multiple watches years beyond a blog type video. To make it even more effective, repeating the information as onscreen text graphics would be good, we can pause it at each stage and info like month, depth, seed number etc is on our phone as we follow along while in our sowing location. I personally prefer you talking to the camera (us) rather than a possibly staged conversation with a third party (absolutely no slight intended, just my preference). I have this season bought spring onion seeds purely because of your videos and I'll be using this video for my first time sowing them at some point this month. Many thanks.

Steve, you make things look so easy, I wonder if your daughter might be up for trying to do some of your tasks on camera as an example of how a newbie might experience things: so that the rest of us might see the kind of pitfalls or mistakes that can be made, if she’s up for that? For example, when you were trying to roll nine seeds, and you said you just get a feel for it, it would be interesting to see how your daughter went on her first couple of attempts, to make the rest of us feel confident even if we completely mess it up at first. 😊

A few quick words on how do you know when to harvest and how often you should water each Stage please would be helpful but great video 👍

    • @SteveRichards
      @SteveRichards  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

We harvest when we need to eat them, but about pencil width is ideal, if they grow a lot bigger the outer skins get tough, just split and remove the skins and the middle core is super sweet. There's no way to advise on watering really, it depends too much on the weather and time of year and where you grow them, but they like damp soil and they are shallow rooted, so just keep the soil damp a few inches below the surface : All the best - Steve
