First off, great video... You made your point the numbers do need to add up when thinking about investing in this type of property. Wow, what a gorgeous rental.... My plan was to buy another be home in a place I was planning to retire... I own my home in California so swapping home's for this type of business would be something I'd be interested in doing. And what I mean by that is once I plan on retirement I'd move to the location I want to retire in and either rent or Airbnb out my California home.😉👍

Great video but the estimated cost i was looking for on a house worth €500k was the local municipal taxes as they charge a fee per square ft of the property's "fair value", really hard to get examples online

Well done video! Rhodos was my favorite place in the world 30 yrs ago. I'm surprised how inexpensive the home was to build. I'm a property engineer myself in the US and I couldn't get past the foundation on that structure with the 500k she invested. I'm actually considering starting a micro hotel, bnb or hostel on a Greek island. I have dual citizenship and it's time for me to move back. Any suggestions or advice or recommendations are appreciated.

Hey Alex I was born in Turkey my family was exchanged after WW1 from Thessaloniki. I am a dual citizen in the US as well. I plan to settle down in where my blood belonged to. Some Greek guys told me not to invest in anything besides hospitality in Greece. What do you think? I plan to operate a tech business but with so many conflicting information I received on my question, I am very confused right now.

There truly is a lot of good and bad about doing business in Greece. All my successful Greek friends and family explain it to me like this, it is simply a different economic environment. Don't expect it work like it does in the US. Learn it from a standpoint of you can learn and make it as successful as you want just dont expect anything and be willing to learn everything new.
I agree hospitality is usually a high demand area but it also has a very high amount of competition. That being said, there is almost always a way to beat your competition. My olan is to aquire a home base, house and spend time traveling around, working in the areas that interest me and learning the tax laws, "hidden fee system" then deciding where I believe I want to compete and go from there. The good news is that it doesnt take much money to live while learning and growing and there really is no failure because youre always living. Not just working your butt off, going home to watch tv, pass out wake up and repeat. Living the Mediterranean lifestyle is success in itself.
Please keep me updated on your plan. Im interested in hearing what you learn. Id gladly do the same.

@@abrahamovicovski Keep me posted as you go. Its a big and overdue step for both of us. We have different nationality names but over the past 1500 yrs or so weve become very alike people. Greeks and Turkish people really are at peace. Our governments sometimes are at odds but youve seen during both big earthquakes we are always the first to arrive and give everything we have to help out. Turkes are no different. Peace and success brother.
