Personally, I'd use colored uv resin and torch each layer. The science that mandates that the sugar saturation in water wouldn't eventually neutralize in mix the colors would only work if you could suck out that little bubble of air before putting the cork in.
The miniature bottle was cute though

Space Giraffes Yes, but the sugar will eventually dissolve into all of the substances in equal parts.
It won't blend, if you use different kind of liquid for each layer (each liquid has different mass and density) , but idk if they could blend nicely like this one tho
Foreinscorp z They need to be water based liquids to be able to dissolve sugar into them, so they will blend into each other. You could have 2 phases of you use a water based liquid and an oil based one. I remember I sow a three phases solution in a lab once: it was a demonstration, many years ago, I don't remember the materials, but I remember they said it is extremely difficult to find three materials that will stay separated. So I really don't think you can achieve a four layers solution. At least not in a DIY project!

yeah, if you add more sugar the liquid will be more dense and sink to the bottom and wont mix with less dense liquids, kind of like oil and water.

Adding sugar is to increase it's density so that they can layer on top of each liquid
