Nothing else is needed than this truth at the deepest level: to know myself is to know God. And to know that it doesn't need my understanding to be so. To know that the one that understands is the same one as the One that seemingly was lost or hidden. There was, is and always will be only One. The One without name and form, the source and beingness of all that is. Blessed are all the beautiful teachers that point us towards this truth 🙏🙏🙏

"Know Thyself" was at the oracle at Delphi. But the translation implied "temper yourself" or Humble yourself. To humble yourself will put you beneath men. Being beneath them, you can lift them up. To humble yourself add balance and takes away inequality, the jealousy which leads to hatred. To put yourself above others is to push them down. To serve others and help them is to lift them up. The Lord says to humble yourself. For no man is above or equal to God - and in knowing this, God above you will lift you up. And when you've placed yourself below others, he will lift you up and others will be lifted up as well. To know God is to know truth. Truth leads to humility. Humility leads back to God. Quite circular.

Hey Alan, i wrote a poem basically pointing in the same direction. It's called "the wheel" (inspired by a budhist rich iconography contained within the wheel of life imagery, but saying what Balyani already spoke of)
    And here it is:
    The Wheel
    Devil may lurke
    With a genuine smile
But you've got eyes to see.
When he fills up the gap
    With all felt desires
    You wont be able
    To flee..
    He's got
    Divas
    And Pretas
    Narakas
    And Ghosts
    Yet none of them need
    None the healing.
    Asuras and Beasts
    Mankind and Lords...but
    None of them need
    Escape
    From the wheeling....
    Devil may lurke
With a grin on your face
    When you reach for
    A pleasurous feeling,
    It aint the feeling there
    You ought to ignore
    You should bless it
    With seeing..
    Someone is laughing
    From depth of hearts
    But not to which
    One is seeing.
    If it were so
    Amd i was the one
    Then this breath
    Would be called - stealing

I saw that Rupert took the teaching of Mary and Jane from the text An Explanation of the Oneness of Being | Awhad al-din Balyani - Sufi - Persia - 13th century
Thats strange that i never saw him saying that he took from there. Did you ever saw him saying alan?
By the way, thanks for the video! Im translating the teaching of Balayani to portuguese.
    Here is the teaching.
Suppose, for example, that you do not know that your name is Mary, or that what your name designates is Mary (name and named are the same), and that you think that your name is Jane. If you then learn that you are really Mary, you do not stop being who you were. The name Jane is simply taken away from you because you have come to know you are Mary and you were only Jane by believing you were other than Mary.
Ceasing to be presupposes the affirmation of the existence of what is other than God, and whoever affirms the existence of what is other than Him has attributed (projected) the existence of something other than Him. Nothing has been taken away from Mary: Jane did not pass away into Mary and Mary did not enter into Jane or come out of her, nor did Mary ever become incarnated in or as Jane. When Mary knew (realized) herself, that she was Mary and not Jane, she knew herself through herself and not through Jane.
Because Jane never was, how could anything be known through her? Therefore the knower and the known, the one who arrives and what he arrives at, and the seer and the seen are one. “The knower” is His attribute and “the known” is His essence, and “the one who arrives” is His attribute and “what he arrives at” is His essence. In actuality, the attribute and that to which it is attributed are one. That is the explanation of the saying, Whoever knows their self, knows their Lord.

the genius of Christianity was to envision the death of incarnate god on the cross, the passing away of God.the last temptation of christ on the cross was envisioned as a metaphor for the test all humans must all go through in this life, our being towards death. non duality seems to simply by pass all of this kind of theology. Even ramana maharshi said we must look at the snake (i.e. egoillusion, maya, incarnate existence, phenomenal passing away etc) in order to come to see the rope. in other words, can the aspirant so easily affirm God as suggested here, or is there a hard labour of yoga through maya, so that like Christ on the cross, we can ultimately also affirm at the end of our struggle, It is Accomplished"?

God of Quran is an evil who hates unbelievers. It says "˹This is˺ a discharge from all obligations, by Allah and His Messenger, to the polytheists you ˹believers˺ have entered into treaties with: “You ˹polytheists˺ may travel freely through the land for four months, but know that you will have no escape from Allah, and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. So if you ˹pagans˺ repent, it will be better for you. But if you turn away, then know that you will have no escape from Allah. And give good news ˹O Prophet˺ to the disbelievers of a painful punishment. But once the Sacred Months have passed, kill the polytheists wherever you find them, capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them on every way.
