I feel like braids in generally stress edges, especially if it’s being done my stylists who care more about it being neat and not the integrity of the hair.

I definitely agree, it's weird tho cause my stylist never usually stresses my edges. This is her first time

I never did anything but knotless when I started braiding my hair. But not my edges like that. I did them bigger and feeded my edges but not tight. After looking at old photos, I figured out that synthetic hair is the problem for me. I lost inches from this habit

Dead follicles are caused by tight braiding and the weight of the hair per square inch of your scalp.
And the longer it is, the more it weighs obviously.
Neat is not as important, the health of your hair and scalp is.
It sounds like those aunties are running a hair mill for a fast buck not a health conscious salon.

Hi darling I just watched your video from two years ago explaining why you would never do knotless braids again I’ve got a couple of thoughts about that First of all there was a potential for you to lose your edges because on the knotless braids too small second of all she probably done them too tight on your edges alertable you should’ve advocated for yourself and the hair on your head but the advice I would really give you to try and grow them back is Trai my Rosemary growth oil or some peppermint oil mixed with a carrier oil like extra virgin olive oil for her do your scalp massages Eat good healthy food with lots of vegetables and protein and some sweet potato brown rice brown pasta And other Other foods like that continue doing daily activity don’t stress too much Take some vitamins but check with your doctor what you are deficient in first drink lots of water make your Fruit smoothies or eat fruit or do both incorporate some MSM, vitamin C for better absorption and you may know the rest over what you need to do to grow those edges back sick and healthy like you want them.

You said you may NEVER get them again...YET you are leaving them until September? . The $300 you did NOT pay; you paid the remaining $170 in EDGES lil Sis! I hope your hair has repaired itself!!!

Braids have stressed my hair and scalp. I LOVED the look but the aftermath and the takedown have put them on my “never again” list. I will probably have to resort to TWA to restart my growth and strengthening. 😢. But my braids looked GREAT.

I mean… you scoff at paying $300 but the $130 braids were done to right and causing damage. Is it really worth it?

Never had this happen to me before right now. Just took out the last of my braids and the edges with them like the whole perimeter, the very back of my head and deep into the front sides are freaking gone. I big chopped in May and it's grown so much and now this happens. Really feeling stupid right now because it was braided way too tight and had bumps but I kept being told that was normal. 😭😭

omg i'm so sorry this happened to you. I find that wild growth oil really helped me, try it out.

I big chopped last May too!!! Literally shaved it off!!! But it’s Senegalese twists for me!!! I keep an undercut so I don’t have that issue. But some lemonades then the twists got me like am I about to have to shave this 💩 off AGAIN?! I don’t think the lengths of them are helping. These twists have snatched my edges worse than any knotted box braids or micro have EVER done. I’m sure I’ll cry wen I take these out… the twisting method they use to start the twists are brutal and she got every little single stand on my hairline in there. Luckily knotless don’t fuqq me up. 🤦🏾‍♀️

to be honest your edges gone because your braids were probs was to heavy on your head or your braids were to tight and pulling out your edges

This what I'm saying. 8 hours is a days work. Imma want 300 minimum or you can go to the African aunties and loose your edges.
