Kay McCall I apologize Don’t mean to be long-winded but I do agree with what you’re saying because I like old-school gospel and I like the new school gospel but I will have to say some of the songs that are old school lyrically to me is just about what he’s doing and hold on and so on and so on so on the Christian contemporary music even though it’s not my favorite style lyrically I love it because it talks about who he is a talks about how wonderful he is talks about. The music today is more of worship worshiping the Lord talks about all of his attributes so I think personally we just need all styles of gospel music that out with the old in with the new Orr in with the new out with the old we should have both this is why Church is now in days I only fixated on one style but we need all John of us because everybody might not like the same thing and Derby some people like myself that like all types of genres of gospel music

Nothing like, the old school, gospel hymns .......Nothing!!✨✨I remember our congregation,( at St.Paul Missionary Baptist ⛪, Racine, Wisconsin, the late phenomenal, Rev.J.B.Bailey was our Pastor, at this particular time) we would sing this song, sometimes during....." Devotion"( Something todays youth probably, may not know anything about!!) I'm speaking about" Devotion" Lord have mercy, I sure do miss those days😢😢.I wouldn't change my experience as a child growing up in church( For Nothing!!)Rest in Peace, Rev.Bailey, Mrs.Abbie Harris( my Grandmother, I had a praying Grandmother!!)Thank you Jesus.My mother whom I call several times a day, will be 88 yrs young, in August( God willing🙏🙏).Thank you Lord for her( one of the strongest Altos in the Senior Choir, at that particular time😁😁.) To all those members who have passed away, before and after, Rev.Bailey retired..... Ms.Fields, my Aunt, Ms.Lillie Bey, whom both have gone on to glory( who sung in our , Sunbean choir, Directed by its founder, Ms Fields.Every single time, Lillie led her signature song.... " Christ is the answer" the congregation would explode!! and she was just 8 or 9 yrs. old( however , God sure blessed her with a gift!!)!may they , all Rest in Peace☝☝🙏🙏Peace, Love and an Abundance of Blessings to All✨✨6/22/2018
This must be an old hymn of primarily black churches, because I'm not sure I've ever seen it in a white church's hymnal. I'll do my best to make sure it makes the leap to where it hasn't been.
