Here’s the thing: NBA teams are not all star teams. That’s why continuity and team chemistry is important. Jericho Simms and Precious Achuwia development and improvement will go a lot further than Walker Kessler could ever be. Also, the Knicks are not trading anyone in their rotation unless it’s a significant upgrade.
We need a backup to Mitch. Period. It's gonna cost. Sometimes you gotta make sacrifices for the good of the team. They have too many guards and Ainge will want one of those maybe with a pick. Can't go too far into the season hoping Mitch stays healthy and we will need Precious to spell Randle. Something has to happen. Kessler's young and strong can thrive under Thibs. It's almost a no brainer. If it makes sense they're gonna pull the trigger.
As a Jazz fan who pays to much attention to Jazz news, I think I know why the jazz want to trade Walker. He does not get along with the coach. They just don’t like each other. Walker would thrive on a new team. I think he would do way better in a Knick uniform.
Kessler would be a great fit. I also feel that we need to use that MLE for a Bismack, Bobon, or JaVale. I would do a Haporti or Sims with a 1rp and a 2nd
The Knicks do not have a "hole" at backup center. While Achiuwa and Sims might not be ideal, they proved that they were at least servicable last year. If Robinson is healthy, the Knicks will be fine. There is no need to panic and overpay for someone like Kessler.
Kessler is an option. While I’m rooting for Mitch., You simply can’t bank on his health. What happens if he goes down during our playoff run? Something to think about
@@KnicksNation Don't get me wrong. I would be interested in Kessler, and he could help. I am just very reluctant to do business with Danny Ainge, who is intent on extracting as much as possible in assets in any trade. I would not be willing to move McBride and 2 firsts for any backup center. I would offer Sims and the 2 unprotected firsts. That would be a fair trade.
If it's Deuce straight up for Kessler I'm doing it. Might even do Kolek and a pick. We know how Thibs feels about playing rookies. If Ainge wants more than that then he can kick rocks with no socks.
I would imagine Kolek over Mcbride as there are several high level shooters and defenders in the starting 5 and off the bench. Unless Deuce has stepped up his playmaking, last season he wasn't a proper back up for Brunson
The the Knicks definitely need a shooting 5 like Wendell Carter Mo Wagner or Kelly olynyk Jalen brunson likes to attack the paint and it would help if they had a stretch 5 so he can have room to operate
The 2 picks we have to trade are heavily protected and may never be real RD1 picks. If we can get Kelser for Duece and a pick or two you do it. Period.
That rumor is two months old. Ainge probably wants both 1sts, both 2nds, Dadiat, Deuce and/or Kolek. Ironically, they wouldn't want to trade for Sims bc he's pretty much the same player as Kessler and Ut has decided they don't want a rim runner but rather a stretch 5. As for why this keeps coming up, it's bc you guys keep pressing on the media clickbait and bc Danny Ainge and Coach Hardy really DON'T WANT KESSLER ON THEIR TEAM AT ALL (he is their bkup, and with Filopowski now, they don't need him). There are issues there. Kessler is unhappy there and wants out, too, bc Ut doesn't run PnR's or feed their 5's, the coach's quick yanks as soon as he makes a mistake and too many centers fighting for mins, ironically again, the SAME problem he'd have in NY... PS: Kessler's not stopping Embiid (ihart didn't nor did he IND for that matter), only Mitch can, no matter the backup. Also think you guys are underestimating Sims whom Knick management seems to value more than some Knick fans. And you are right about ihart: I think he changed his mind at the last minute and caught management by surprise. Regardless, we have six months to see what develops...
Thanks for the feedback. I love long reply’s like this one 👍🏼. Yeah, I’m in the process of watching Kessler tapes atm and see what you’re saying. It’s just that I hart was so valuable for us. And don’t forget, before Hartenstein signed with the Knicks he wasn’t that good. Maybe the Knicks are banking on a similar path for Kessler.
If the Knicks trade for Kessler, Guess Whose Starting at Center??? MITCHELL ROBINSON…..Thibs LOVES Mitch!!! Don’t Forget that!!! Imo He should not be coming off the bench AT ALL….Mitch’s Rim Protection is DPOY Elite Level!!! Kessler would have to be on the bench.
Kessler is a gud choice he can start and precious can back up . If Robison goes down but he's been traning, he's coming in liter practicing free throws. Let's see?
Honestly I'll take Kessler over Mitch due to his health issues I like Mitch the only advantage he has is defensively but with Thibbs can help him work on that . Truthfully Thibbs is the center whisper.
We don’t have 2 first round picks. We have 2 protected picks that are almost 100% going to convert to 2nd Rd picks. Anything Danny Ainge wanted from us, we traded to Brooklyn for Bridges. Maybe if we got control of his mind, we could get him to trade with us.
If no other team is willing to give up a first round pick for Kessler, maybe we have a chance to make a deal with Ainge, but I’m not expecting anything.
The trade package ainge wanted for DM eventually resulted in the awesome team we have now. The knicks now have 7 above average NBA players vs just one (DM). We won the trade we never made. Mind you OG and Bridges are part of these 7 players-they are not just average!!!
That's all I hear oh the knicks are in the radar for Kessler yo make the deal already is eigther we get him or not trade Jericho Sims and first pick and second round that's it the set the deal if that's not much we'll put in Mcbride in the deal or cam Payton
Kessler is a perfect fit for our current and future needs. They are loaded with C’s, so could something like this work for a trade? Dadiet(essentially an already picked 1st rounder), Bates-Diop, a 1st pick, and a couple 2nd round picks. For Kessler?? Honestly, I’d even do McBride and a few 2nds for Kessler. I’d hate to part with McBride but he is kinda buried on the depth chart at both the PG and SG. Considering our needs, I’d def still make that move
1) Utah likes Kessler. The issue is that Hardy prefers bigs that can stretch. Hence the Collins trade (which caused the friction btwn WK and Utah in the first place), and the Filipowski pick. Collins isn’t a fit, however, bc he has minimal defensive ability as a 5. And Filipowski is a rookie. So Utah will not trade WK, unless they get what they want. They will just let him be the defensive force and finisher, that he thrives at being. And maybe he learns a thing or two from Eubanks. 2) Utah is tanking. Ainge will have no interest in Deuce, unless it ends up being a 3 team deal, where the 3rd team wants Deuce. 3) The Knicks likely offered their two protected 1sts (Wash and Det), which, understandably, didn’t move the needle for Utah. 4) Since Utah is tanking, I would think that Dadiet, Kolek, and picks have the most value to them.
You don’t know ball for shit. Kolek is out backup PG deuce is an undersized sg…deuce can’t create a shot for others, we have Donte and j hart as backup shooting guards, also deuces contract is gonna expire and we will have to give him a real contract or he’s gone. TRADE DEUCE. It’s not a hard decision at all
@@KnicksNation how does that make no sense? Ur homie dead said mike Conley was on the jazz…don’t press me lmao. Deuce doesn’t play PG, he’s a score first guard that can’t set people up for shots. Deuce won’t be in this team at the start of the 25-26 season, mark my words.
Deuce still has 3 more seasons under his contract. It’s not expiring. And just because the Knicks signed him to a team friendly deal doesn’t mean they need to trade him. It works both ways.
@@KnicksNation I’m going off of what you said in the video. Just looked up his contract and ur right on that part, but either way he won’t be playing for us and he will be moved. I stand by it, he will not be on this team by the end of the season
