@@norielformarejo8455 Zach actually did use horizontal in his freestyle but it was literally 5 seconds, but yeah I know what you mean. You can hardly call that horizontal in todays age. Mad respect for Takeshi and Zach.
My favorite thing is to set these videos to 75% speed and really see every element. It let's me see much better exactly what they're doing, it's awesome 💯
Honestly I can kinda see how you would think that and that's a very interesting way to look at this. I'm definitely gonna be viewing it a little differently now and I don't mean that in a bad way at all lol.
Its probably got a bit to do with the looping electric fan motion of his slack and his unique around the arm elements. Dude could have easily been a double champ if the conditions were right.
This 2nd place feels different. It truly feels upon rewatching over years now, as if he were an alternative winner. 🏆 I learned his tricks via tutorials and they are SO satisfying and fun to master. Flow god.🔥
I'm trying to learn the GT at 1:55 and it's crazy how many string wraps he has around the yoyo. There's at least 5 when he has it at its most dense. Every time I try it, I lose spin quickly or the yoyo binds. He does it flawlessly. Really goes to show just how skilled he is.
This is the kind of routine that isn't made solely to score the most and win. Yes, I'm sure that was in his mind when constructing it, but this was art in motion. That's what originally got me into yoyoing. The manipulation of momentum. It looked so satisfying. This was made for our viewing pleasure.
2016 : Yamato Murata 2017 : Andrew Bergen 2018 : Takeshi Matsuura 2019 : Evan Nagao Just my opinion tho, it seems that the 2nd in world is always more exciting to watch than the 1st (Edit : at least for this past 4 years)
it's due to scoring. Evan even said he hated his 2018 freestyle because it was so focused on clicks and getting the highest score possible, instead of being fun and original like his others.
@@IWLGaming yep I know dat... This year amma try to join a yoyo compe.. I felt wrong only to be a comentator of it without truly experiencing the difficulty of scoring good points in professional yoyo playing.. wish me luck
In 2023 I still think about how ridiculous it is he didn't get first. The judging system is so flawed giving more points to weird bad dancing and tricks that look cool to people that don't yoyo vs tricks like this that make you go "how is that even possible" or it's just yoyofactory paying off the judges. "¿porque los dos?"-little girl
I feel bad for takeshi, but him showing his disappointments after receiving the 2nd place trophy made him look so unprofessional Considering rei iwakura got 3rd place with 4a on that same day but still showed gratitude and humility gives the reason why he’s a good player.
I can't blame the guy for being upset bc you can tell he put a lot of work into this amazing freestyle and was probably a little tore up inside. What do you mean exactly by let it show though? Like what exactly did he do? I've just never heard of this and I'm curious tbh lol.
You know shits has gone down when the crowd is louder than the music itself
I miss pre-covid yoyo so much. Always fun to come back to this freestyle
The more I watch this freestyle the better it gets.
Agreed.
Honestly, I watch and like this more than Evan's winning freestyle
I love his style, deceptively lofi but everything is cutting edge in reality
I was thinking this and then saw this comment. I've watched it so many times but it only gets better!
Still true now tbh
The slack control is actually off the charts.
No gimmicks, pure tech and flow
Even though after 2 months, this is still the best freestyle video I’d love to watch repeatedly. Thank you Takeshi🙏🏻
Same and I watch this almost everyday because its plain good!
He scored high in technical execution without any horizontal... respect✌
same with Zach Gormley 2015, no hroizontal

i can't explain it, but it feels like a 5A routine with the string manipulation, I am hypnotized.

This guy has the longest sickest combos! My new yoyo hero. ☝ ☝
0:53-2:06 is one throw no regens
Semifinal is one throw though
Absolute monster
@Gustav Wei 1 Minute long combo is already insane
Can’t wait to show this to my kids one day

Yoyo gap and
Just expensive yoyos.
Takeshi has a big gap and small pads
Try Thinner strings
I especially love yo-yours who are champs in certain areas come do crazy stuff I’m other areas

Takeshi getting 2nd this year really was the end of yoyo’s golden age

I couldn't have said it better bro fr. Satisfying to manipulate something like that with so much skill. 🤷🏻♂️

2:58 feelin like a boss
propaply one of my favorit performances ever
His performances make me want to pick up my yoyo although my skills is terrible!
That double or nothing slack combo was insane such a clean routine 😊

So much innovation, this FS has so many elements that were unseen before and are widespread now.
I find it hilarious how one of the most innovative players in yoyo makes elements that become part of the meta which is boring to watch

Evan should have won
@@bonkman1409 Evan placed second in 2019 stooopid
Even though i think evan should've won in 2019 (no hate gentry) I still think takeshi should've taken the win despite evans great freestyle.
Is it just me or is there an audible click when he knocks out that GT at 1:58 😂
I hear it too!
I hear cough with phlegm coming from that man's heart
He should have taken 1st.
I think he missed tricks too much! Hopefully next year he will take 1st. Sr my English so bad :))
Not sponsored by yoyo factory.
he missed almost nothing. Evan had way more mistakes
if you understand his tricks, there are quite a lot of mistakes
Can you point them out? I only see 1 mistake at 1:32
so many inspirations in this freestyle
2nd place without any horizontal. Wow this is amaizing.
Still some of the steeziest tricks seen
Still the best 1A freestyle ever
Totally agree
1:24 Any tuts for this trick?
This is the the tech I would love to see always ❤❤❤❤😮😮😮😮
the most exquisite thing I've seen

Why he didn't throw at 2019 WYYC?

Don’t give up kids! Did takeshi give up? No! He lost all his yoyos, He looked for a doorknob to use as a Yoyo.
He didn't use the ART doorknob. He used a TP Mustang. Which does not resemble a doorknob.
good
I think his freestyle is better than evan I can't unnderstand why he is 2nd XD
Lmao more views than on Evan’s performance 😂
I think it was blocked in certain countries cause I cant even watch Evans freestyle
